Possible NSW 5/8's

Campbell... not a chance, I'm afraid. Too small and a defensive liability. But on attacking prowess, he would be a gun.

It'll probably be a three horse race between Hill, Anasta and Barrett.

he kicked a field goal to win the game...welll whooooooopty dooooooooooooo.
If you have some league brains in your head you will know he should never have been chosen at 5/8 for NSW.

Yeah, he should have been on the wing where it's harder to kick field goals!!!

Timmins was originally selected at 5/8 beside Joey Johns. Johns didn't need a trad. 5/8, so Timmins was picked so the Blues would effectively have a 7th forward. Last year, with Johns out, they were going for stability, with Gower and Timmins chosen for game 1. (Scott Hill missed out controversially) Both had poor games, but how could you drop Timmins after potting Charlie Saab's favorite field goal?

Timmins, like Barrett, have certainly done the job for their state, if not for their club. I reckon Barret has been NSW's best conststently over the last 5 years, so he'll get the nod. They also need leadership in the absence of Joey and Buderis - so he'll be captain. Noddy will be half.

Unfortunately for Hill and Orford, their club is on a losing streak at the wrong time. Same for Anasta, who is a sound yet unspectacular player IMHO. Sherwin is the Dog's spark, and I reckon he deserves to be next in line for a Blues jumper.

If you want a form 5/8 so far however, it's Thurston.

misty bee...

again you have NFI. I never said timmins should be on the wing did i. To be honest he should never have been picked for the team.
In 2005 Buderus will be captain again, not Barrett.
Thurston is playing halfbak for NQ not 5/8. Good to see you are watching the games Bee

Oh, & also scored NSW only try  LOL, don't bother trying to argue this one, you've already failed.

In a match in the 2003 series, Timmins got more metres than any other QLD forward.

I think NSW won both those series, looks like our 5/8th doesn't need to pass to win games

By the way Charlie, you are getting owned

Timmins got more yards than any other qld forward???????????
I wonder why!!!!!!!!!!!
He nevr passes and is always dummying.
Lets see how the dragons go this weekend with no timmins (if suspended) vs the chooks. The dragons might actually win another game (shock horror) without his selfish runs crab like runs.
He scored a try yes, but NSW could have scored more if the neville had a passing game from left to right. NSW should have played with 9 men as the NSW centres and wingers never saw the ball.

Never said you did. I was merely giving an idiotic retort to your stupid assertion that a person who won an Origin game for his state should never have been picked. Next time note the sarcasm, or get an adult to help you detect it!

Buderis is a fantasic player, but thre's no guarantee with Newcastle at rock bottom and Buderis being light on game time.[/quote]

OOh, being tough and using last names only? Thurston is only filling in for Chris Sheppard, in case you hadn't noticed. What I meant was that of all the 5/8s in the comp, the bloke with form is Thurston, even WITH his 3 or so games at halfback.

Happy?

So, Charles my new best internet buddy, are you saying that you are whinging because NSW picked a player that casued Queensland to lose by less? Would you have been happier if we picked a ball playing 5/8 and you lost by 20???

*awaiting angry response using the last half of my handle, plus the letters "NFI"*
;-)

so i called you bee....so what? you can call me saab, it doesnt concern me. Get over yourself.

So buderus is with a struggling club, so what? He was captain last yr wasnt he? yes!
They wont say "Oh danny, your club team is struggling, we will give the captaincy to Barrett (another struggler  ) this yr. NSW will show some loyalty i think and give the captaincy to buderus. He did win last yr as captain in case your short term memory has eroded.

I am not whinging that he was selected, go right ahead and pick him at 6 this yr...please! I am whininging because he is being talked up as some almighty great player when he has a passing game as good as shane webcke!

I've seen Webcke bass some beauties, Charles. Don't sell him short.

No one has talked Timmins up as an 'almighty great player'. In fact, in the rugby league universe, there is possibly only 1 person obsessed with him. You.

Deal with your obsession. Get some therapy.

so his job is not to give the ball to the centres? yeah thats great.
Look at Lockyer vs your inept dragons...look at the service he gave his outside backs! Thats what a 5/8's job is!
