So Maloney,Yeo and DWZ all missing. Could argue 3 of their best?
They lost Blake for the 2nd half and The vicous fish for the bulk of it also.

5 of their best not there for 2nd half and still trounced us. This is scary signs guys.

f**k off Pou, seriously f**k off. Where the f**k do you get the energy you apologist loser?

Cmon Avenger. We are going like Pou expected. The team started the year playing well but has slowly returned back to form. 2018 form.

This is the same Eels I have seen for 6 years tbh. Our game plan doesn't evolve to suit players strength. I remember when DA changed our whole style in 2009 cause it wasn't working. Watch how D.Pay changed the dogs also.
BA for some reason chooses not to. Perhaps he has a style and recruits players that will suit it. That's fine to but I tell you now teams have worked it out.

And we were missing Mennings, Drown, Nrown, Moeroa...compounded by some absolute brain fart selection decisions by our coach and we lost be 6, not trounced....

You're right though, there are worrying signs. But the Panthers were marginally not as shithouse as we were....

What did we expect from a wooden spoon team? We have some good players in our team but at least 60% of this team today are reserve graders. Just hopeless

Our pack is still soft. No mad merkins and not much balls. People have developed crushes on half of them. When a journey men like Gower who is 46yrs old can be one of your best then it's a worry. And I love Gower but it says something about the rest of them

My point was Penrith have been easily handled and beaten at full strength by other teams.
We played a weaker side and they also ended with 15 men for most the 2nd half. We also where at home. We where kept scoreless for 78mins

Hindy is absolutely correct. The Panthers made easy meters somtimes 70m per set and kept us pinned to our line. The Eels looked flat all game.
I call it mental weakness as the team can't overcome the adversity of traveling, or 5 day turnarounds.

Commentators on 9 constantly saying Parra have nothing. Just one out runs and your not winning games in the nrl like that. A fee sets we where working it off line and getting pounded. Steele made the point smart teams will go wide or turn a few inside balls. Parra just use the same identical block plays they have for 5 yrs. Not good enough.

The loss had nothing to do with our forwards being shit, our attack being poor etc etc etc, it basically came down to drop balls/errors.

In the first half we dropped it 4 times in their half and the second half was worse, gee Ferguson dropped it twice when it looked like we were creating an over lap.

If we don’t make so many errors , we build pressure on the panthers, make them work harder and it gives them less energy for attack.

If we reduced those errors even by half, we win easily.

Yes it was a disgraceful performance/absolutely shocking!!

But the reasons for the loss isn’t that complicated as some are claiming and it can be fixed (and yes BA is accountable for the crapness).

It’s basically similar reasons to why we lose to knights, raiders, cowboys. Stupid f**ken errors!!

Additionally we just need to tighten up the ruck a little.

Well thankfully we are not stuck with some of the losers from last night for 2020+.

Penrith won it up the middle in attack and superior line speed. Comes down to desire and most of the team last night “tried too hard” as Darius would say. :frowning2:

They didn’t try hard and that was the problem last night. There was no urgency (except for maybe 5 minutes near the end) the whole game. They were standing flat in attack with no one really wanting to run on to the ball and there were no angles, nothing.

In defence there was f**k all line speed and the first up contact is f**king pathetic for a professional football team.

The crowd was getting frustrated with the refs cause they wouldn’t blow a penalty because it looked like they could hold us down for an eternity while we had to get straight off them but the reality is that Penrith had numbers around the ball carrier and wrestled till the end where as we have one high, one low and f**k all wrestle so there is never any type of dominance.

They are unfit and poorly coached in all the fundamentals of the game. Sack all the assistants and start again as we just re-signed the coach so we won’t be getting rid of him!

They scored off a forward pass and a lucky bounce. Who they had/didn’t have was inconsequential, we were just complete garbage. Actually that mindset is worse than inconsequential. It doesn’t matter who the other team have

I'd suggest that the Storm, Roosters and Souths will make less errors across the season than the other 13 teams.

Are they good teams because they don't make errors or do they not make as many errors as a team across a season because they don't have as many shit players?

I agree with your sentiment, however we have played well this year. So we need to find that spark, belief and desire.

The coach was a good coach 4 weeks ago and the players held their own and were good enough to snag 5 wins.

Head coaches should be brave enough to move on their assistants and employ much better coaches for the specifics. In the NFL this is a fact.

The same assistants have coached under BA and there has been no improvement in shape, structure, attack, defence etc etc.

As before, loyalty will bite you on the rear if you continue. As they say, doing the same thing and expecting a different result is madness.

Last night was the lowest I have felt for a long, long time and BAs presser continued the feeling , as he again showed little emotion and the same demeanour as always. Get angry for the fans , that was unacceptable after the first 3 minutes.

The new stadium is an attraction, the last 3 games have painted a picture that does little to encourage attendance.

Parra tried an outside inside ball to Tim Mannah (lmao) twice in the game. I recall laughing about it to my son.

But you’re 100% correct. We have no inside balls, set plays (apart from sivo cutting back in when attacking) or structure. Even reed just picks the ball up and passes it. We need to put defences in 2 and 3 minds. Reed needs to vary his game with some inside balls. We wouldn’t trouble a reserve grade team let alone a contender.

Agreed. For the first time in a long time, I’m feeling deflated re parra. I didn’t even feel this way during the SK era.

Anyways, it’s only footy right?
