It may have been better to have the other thread shown as replies, rather than inserted as if it were the original. The way the editing has been done has the possibility of narrowing the focus of discussion, potentially restricting it altogether.

Probably not. Unsure who else would be needed on the bench. Apart from Paulo and Lane those middles could play 50+ comfortably, assuming Gutho handles the defensive transition, and there's edge cover with Matterson and Lane although not ideal. Guess you could have Sean Russell who gives us backline utility.

It probably makes more sense to have Guymer at 13 and Gutho off the bench to cover 1, 3, 4, 6, 9 and 13.

So that's 17+10 players, leavings 3 spots left to fill for the top 30. Unless Sivo, Greig or Lussick leave for elsewhere over summer, in which case we've got more vacancies.

If we do have coin to shop with, I'd like to see us sign in (for 2025, or 2026) a decent second rower, a backline player and an additional/bench hooker. Mainly because Cartwright, Gutherson, and Lussick will all be over 30 and off contract at end 2025.... Ofahenguae will be in the same boat, but it looks like we may have some possible forward prospects coming through in Guymer and/or Mataele.
