Hey, I caveated my opening post with the statement that I had to get in now because the Dogs are sure to turn their season around soon.

i did read that, but i felt like i had to be captain obvious and point it out.

and it is a shame that a thread that actually showed a sense of humour and was of higher value than storm fans vs everyone else became a trolling ground for the mental midgets.

Yeah a thread to laugh at someone for a comment they made about their team weeks ago containing premature ejaculation in the title was of great value...the original post was petty, and I struggle to find the "sense of humour" you're talking about. Someone was wrong? Is that that funny to you? Were you going to discuss it for pages on end or something?

Seriously, where did you expect this thread to go? What "high value" conversation could you possibly have been imagining besides "it's still early in the season..." which already got trotted out?

It's a shame you were robbed of the chance to post a few laughing emoticons. Trying to take the moral high ground here is absurd.

So when I read JM's comment in this thread, it wasn't too difficult to make the association and post them here together with my comments. Sorry, my bad... I guess that would've been a major project for someone like you, Albert.

ANSWER ME THIS: Do you agree that the NRL forum, where Timmah's post was, is a lot more open than the Knights' forum, where JM's post was?

No. There is no such thing as "as lot more open". Both threads are totally open and viewable by any LU members.

well, i was referring to nemesis being a complete pillock. i tend to actually appreciate your posts. but i didn't go about making that clear.

i guess the overall quality of a forum is sh*thouse if i consider this to be a quality thread. thank god the individual club forums and most matchday threads aren't as dire as the main nrl forum.

It's not even about that, it's about who the intended audience was.

If I go out into the NRL forum and beat my chest about how well the Knights are going to do and they lose, I've made a fool of myself. Clearly that's what I meant by 'openly my talking my team up'.

If I say to other Knights fans in the Knights forum that I have a good feeling about tonight and we lose, I was wrong. There is no fall, as I referred to in my original post.

Nemesis doesn't seem to be able to grasp that I was referring to the former rather than the latter even though we had a case in point in Timmah, and I had specifically talked about the "fall" factor. He has since gone off half-cocked because he can't tell the difference between the two. I'm over this argument now, but that's really what it comes down to.

It completely matters, because it puts my pre-match comment in context. I wasn't chest-beating to other fans, I was saying I had a good feeling about the game that night to my fellow supporters. I was wrong, and that's why I'm glad I didn't openly talk my team up to opposition fans before the game. There is no "fall" as I referred to in my first post, when you express an opinion in your own club's forum, so clearly you have misinterpreted what I meant by openly talking my team up.

Look, others get it but you seem to be struggling to grasp it. The difference is I was being optimistic to other Knights fans in our designated forum where I'm perfectly entitled to without other teams' fans thinking it's directed at them. Timmah was boasting to everyone in the NRL forum and specifically directing his comments to an opposition fan with the intention of causing controversy. That is the difference between talking yourself up and having an opinion.

No, this is where you're wrong again. I do read other club forums as many posters here do. However I appreciate that the conversation is between the fans of that club, and they have every right to express their opinions whatever they may be, whether or not I agree with them. If someone is posting in their own club forum they have every right to conduct the conversation as if they are talking to people with the same interests for the club. That is why we have club sections.

You, on the other hand, are a f**kwit with the sole intention of knocking someone down after they lose a game if they were optimistic, even going back to that club's forum to do so later.

And I hope digging through others' posting history in an attempt to catch them out goes better for you next time. Hopefully for you someone might agree with you next time you try to be smart.
