Premier League premiership chances?

I think our premier league side should really threaten for the title. We might not have enough genuinely classy players to win the first grade premiership, but there is quite a lot of depth in the squad. Potentially only 11 players from the top squad of 25 are going to be in our round 1 team, with the other 6 players coming from OUTSIDE the first grade squad (Uate, Seu Seu, Paterson etc). It shows we have a lot of players of roughly similar standard, which should ensure a high quality premier league team full of players who genuinely believe they can push for a first grade position.

Possible Premier League Team (based on expected first grade team from the trials):

1. Hinton
2. Uate/McManus (I expect one of them to miss out on first grade for Thaiday)
3. Franze
4. Polglase
5. Seage
6. Tighe
7. Walsh
8. Davico
9. Seu Seu
10. White
11. Reynoldson
12. Tanner
13. Brown

14. Bailey / Karawana
15. Snowden
16. Taufua
17. Royal
18. Ling

In the forwards especially, that's a lot of depth.

Looks pretty good K-man. But I doubt we will see Seage playing no.5, infact anywhere on the field for a while.

Yeah I know, it was more of a "best possible side in 2007", if there were no injuries etc.

Bailey on the bench? I'd rather have him in the second row instead of Tanner, or even in the centres. He's a good player, and Brown is probably the better impact player anyway so even Bailey at Lock and Brown on the bench...

That team can't win premier league with tanner in the back row, lol.

In all seriousness, I'm very confident davico will be in first grade.

Two great names in Sorrensen and Grant might play a part - although i'd rather have their fathers still - even if they are both in their fifties now.

The 5/8 is a real battle - Dureau, Karawana, Allan, Bailey, Thurston, Hunt - that Lebanese kid - endless options - but Dureau is the great playmaker who can potentially lead our firstgrade around in the future IMO.

Timmy is an animal - I don't know if he has put in the off season work - but he should step up this year to PL - and the Tuafua brothers and Willie Tupou will all give the forwards a shake.

Trent Robinson is a coach who has proven he can really develop players in France and England - and he has Smith looking over his shoulder. He has a huge pool of players who have the potential to be fantastic players. I would have preferred Rip Taylor - but if Robinson is half as good as his reputation we will give this thing an awful shake.

I agree.

With our depth of young forwards making a break for FG selection. I think having Davico off the bench will give us that extra bit of experience in the pack. He was much better than Craig Smith was for us last year IMO. Still runs hard and plays the ball relatively fast.

.

I almost choked when you said that roopy......

Were you at the trial on the weekend?? I think i could play better than sorreson with my high heels on. He was disgusting. I hope it was just nerves and that trent doesn't actually this he is worth feeding.

I was really embarressed.

His father may of been a great, but i think sorrenson should try ice skating that way he can't stuff up as bad :)

Tim has been training great in the off season.

Early on he was required to drop his skin fold down. Not only has he done that, he has stayed the same weight.

He is a fierce competitor.

Great potential.

Pika do you watch them train much?. You seem to know alot about how they have been training.

That is a good thing of course!

He's clearly affiliated with the Knights...

The more his identity remains a secret, the more he'll tell us ;-)

I dont think I have said anything out of line as far as the Club is concerned, but I if I am told to stop posting, I will.

A player who played last season and the season before posted very occasionally for a while - but in the end he decided we were full of sh*t - especially when we turned on him.

Bloody nice guy he was (probably still is i imagine).
