so konrad hurrell has his arm in a sling, been like that for a week, anyone got any news on that. off season op, break??????

Yes off season surgery, to fix scaphoid fracture on his right wrist, picked up injury in May or June and wasn't picked up, Konrad didn't tell anyone, it is the reason he's not playing for the kiwis.

So if club lets Neilsen go (likely) and Hurrell is not 100% we'll be short of a centre unless Luamape and Attwood fill in or Mannering.

We do need some back up players (props, centre)

Good to hear. Cappy's not entirely happy with what we have.

Warriors coach Andrew McFadden says he's still in the market to bring more players to the club for next season.

The players not involved in the Four Nations got back into training last week for the 2015 season.

Matt Allwood, who's joined the club from the Raiders, was one of the new faces at training, but McFadden said he hoped other players would join the franchise before next season kicks off.

"There could be [other players arriving]," McFadden told Sunday News.

"I'm pretty happy with the squad we've got, but I'll definitely be looking to try to improve it. I'd be lying to say I'm completely comfortable with our squad."

Last weekend Sunday News announced the Warriors had signed Bodene Thompson from Wests Tigers and they are in the hunt to lure Kieran Foran to Auckland in 2016.

Centre remains a position where they need more depth and although Dane Nielsen has returned to training with the club, he may not be there by the time next season kicks off.

Meanwhile, McFadden said the three Warriors players who had to miss the Four Nations are all recovering well from their operations.

"Ben Matulino [knee] is back to full running and Ben Henry [knee] not far away from that," McFadden said.

"Konrad [Hurrell] only recently had his [wrist] operation, his was a bit more complicated than first thought, but we're really happy with how that's gone and we expect to have him back on the training paddock pretty soon."

As well as the first-grade players, there are also prospects from the under 20s team training with McFadden in pre-season. McFadden also gets to assess the players' attitudes and abilities.

Laumape is ahead of Neilsen in our centre pecking order anyway so our first choice centres don't really change at all. Just leaves us short on depth with Allwood, Mannering and Benry being our centre cover, but thats ony really an issue if Hurrell or Laumape are out for long periods.

season start is a worry though, given the KFC fetish

He had to go (Neilson). Must admit, I was fairly disappointed with his stint here, I had high hopes for him.

Am I the only one whose concerned with our backs? Of those with FG experience

Fullback options, Tomkins (who I think will improve on last season), Fish (always seems to be injured) and Lolohea (hasn't had a proper string of games in FG - Although he is an exciting prospect)

Wingers - Laumape (after starting strong, am I the only one whose indifferent on him?), Fusitua (Kinda reminds me of a Wairangi Koopu, only in the backs. Not spectacular but rather a safe option), Vatuvei(all depends which Manu comes out to play) and Fish (again, always injured), Allwood (havn't seen enough to form an opinion)

Centres - Konnie (hope he can stay fit to play for 80 mins, especially early season), Laumape (already mentioned), Peyroux (wouldn't be surprised if hes next in an apparent clear out), Allwood (see above), then the forwards like Mannering and Benry

I think we may struggle if we get hit by a couple of injuries or suspensions. We could be really tested on depth.

Ideally I'd like for us to try and get another centre. Wouldn't have a clue as to who could be available, or whether Solomone Kata will make the step up.

Fusitua is not spectacular???

He had some pretty spectacular moments last season.... He looks real promising.

ooh for sure he has has his moments.
He also has some very quiet games (which is actually a good thing, means hes not making errors or getting caught out, hence the mr safe comment).
He's probably the player that I'm most intrigued to see how he gets on next season(and Lisone), hope he doesn't have second year syndrome (dont think he will)
