Time this thread was closed down IMO. It serves no further purpose until an announcement is made one way or the other.

A lot of chatter there is a clean out taking place at the warriors. A ton of guys being told to look for new clubs if they can find them as they are not required for 2014. this includes Palavi, Vete, Bhana. Paasi signing with Roosters it seems and Papalii confirmed gone also to Roosters. Mateo good chance gone also with management looking to shift him. Bukuya may be heading back to Sydney. Almost all the reserve forwards.

Talk is -

Matai Signed
Watmough Signed

Josh Hoffman close to signing
2 possible super league recruits
Manu Vatuvei will play prop 2015

Take it as you want but if Warriors win tomorrow I have a bet with Tangalife not to post here again this year. So im putting it out here now :)

Interesting times indeed!
Just thought I'd bring this back up....

I've been posting on this site for a few years and generally do not get caught up in the rumour miill, however...

I caught up with a friend who is as close to Keza Foran as anybody.

His comments:

Foran only really caught up with the Warriors this week. He was impressed by Doyle and Cappy. He and Johnson become good mates during the recent 4 Nations and Foran has acknowledged that he needs an X factor player at 7. Johnson ticks this box. No bad blood with the way that his brother, Liam, was treated by the Warriors a few years ago.

Some of the other clubs in the mix:

Manly - As per media reports, there are a lot of unhappy players there and DCE does not get on with everyone. Foran loves living on the Northern Beaches and Manly have offered him captaincy and the opportunity to become a one club man

Bulldogs - Still close to Des Hasler so a definite option although their #7 is not a Johnson type player

Parramatta - Really rates coach Brad Arthur & Watmough is there now too

Easts - His best mate, Mitchell Pearce, is there and they do have $

All the money deals will be about the same from the above clubs so $ wont be the deciding factor. He did say that payments outside of the cap are still common place (think about the old school brown paper bags)

My friend does not think he'll end up at the Warriors.

This is legit not just made up!

I'm not sure Easts will have as much coin as people seem to think. Their contributions to Martin Kennedy's (large) salary will go up for the 2016 season, and they have either recently upgraded or will need to upgrade for 2016: Sam Moa, Jake Friend, Aidan Guerra, Daniel Tupou, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Issac Liu, Kane Evans, Dylan Napa & James Maloney. Plus Blake Ferguson will be on good money. Even accounting for losing 2 of those players (JWH+SKD would be most likely for mine, but by no means guaranteed) that's the majority of the SBW/FPN/Mini money gone.

Is anyone seriously going to suggest that the remainder of that money plus getting Maloney's salary off the books (since it would be a direct replacement he would then be the third player lost) is going to make enough room for a player costing in the region we're talking about for Foran?

What you've said is true but the Roosters do have a good track record of attracting top players.

So in other words it isn't a done deal.

Shocking.

I saw it mentioned that SKD has apprently been told he's not part of the Roosters long term plans- I reckon he'd be worth a look, being a Waikato/BoP boy Id say he'd be more open to a move to NZ than most Aussies. He has his flaws at times but when he's on he's bloody good and we need a class centre with experience.
