I wonder if Prior carries the ball like Luke Bailey used too when he had problems losing the pill . Is it a problem in technique?

I wonder if you are a provocateur. He doesn't have an handling problem. He made a few mistakes against the Bulldogs. Only one against the Tigers and that looked like it was "helped" out. A great achievement for a guy playing 80minutes in the middle where the hits are harder and there is more traffic.

He does drop the odd ball .. Perhaps you might have noticed. ..

Hi guys, first post here so just wanted to introduce myself.
*
Been a dragons fan since 1983 and have really enjoyed the last 3 years where we’ve had great success.
*
Have been a long time reader in these forums and now feel like I want to contribute in the various discussions.
*
One of the things I have noticed the last 3 years is a preoccupation with “versatile” players as opposed to specialists. Sure, it’s great to have players that can play a number of positions to plug a hole, but too many of these types of players can be detrimental as well. The players specifically that I am talking about are Prior, Scott and Young. Primarily these guys are obviously back rowers but have filled a number of positions over the years.
*
The point is…does anyone think it strange that a guy like Prior has played both prop and centre? Or that we have seemingly have no problem putting Scott in the centres as well as the second row. Or Young to hooker?
*
When I think of forwards, I think of power players who are big, aggressive, tackle all day, bend the line and don’t get dominated in the ruck (Immediately, I think of players like Sam Burgess, Paul Gallen, Nathan Hindmarsh). Don’t really see Scott, Prior and Young having these attributes. Why I rejoice in the emergence of young De Belin, An out and out forward who won’t take a backward step.
*
When I think of outside backs, I think of players who are speedy and evasive and can create opportunities (I think of Michael Jennings, Gaz when we was with us, Josh Morris etc). Scott and Prior in the backs?? Explains why we struggle to score points sometimes.
*
All the great hookers in the comp, speedy and creative (Smith, Ennis and Farrah). Does Young have these skills?
*
Our preoccupation with putting players out of position, Prior and Scott in the backs, Young at hooker, Stanley at Fullback etc* presents problems which have been discussed many times in these forums.
*
Versatility is great to a degree, but it can cause problems too.

Good post Giboz (and hi), and yep I agree, I mean the versatility is essential to cover injuries, but we have been stifled a bit by having players out of position. Just to comment further:

- Young can bend the line back, he is strong and determined like no other player in the comp, I do wish we could see a lot more of it though, I can only remember a handful of his runs.

- Prior, yes I mean aslong as he is cheap im ok, I think just because you are a work horse, doesnt mean you cant be damaging with your running, I mean Gallen is an extreme example, I wouldnt expect anyone to replicate his fitness, but he is an 80 minute man who does a mountain of work, but he is still dangerous in attack, Creagh also is a good example.

- Scott, dont think there is any argument on the forums that he needs to be out of the backline, because he doesnt generate attack (Though I dont rate Jennings much either lol)

- Stanley same deal, were yet to be sure on whether centre will work for him, but its a big improvement over fullback.

- Rein/King/Fein are all genuine Hookers, none of them are blowing me away with fast running out of dummy half to get the defence turned around, but they are playing in the correct position.
