Punishment for poor nines squads

Oh look my prediction for 2015 has already come around.
Cam Smith's first whinge of the year about to many games.

“The amount of games we are playing is a huge concern for the players.”

http://www.news.com.au/sport/nrl/nr...s-auckland-nines/story-fndujljl-1227201689333

And Cooper, having a whinge in SMH

Yeah, the poor old things as Terry Lamb said.

Maybe those two players should faking retire and do us all a favour, because the more Dave Smith and the NRL allow these players and coaches demote our faking code, the harder it is to grow in this market now swamped with blockbuster events, being lead by overseas codes and teams.

No other code allows players and coaches demote their code, from expanding and growing. ???

We all know it is bullshit, yet we sit back and allow these faking wankers to demote the code.

Gallen is the worst offender. He tried to call our CEO a wanker.
No wonder everyone else think they can get away with talking the game down.

Ban em all from Origin, watch the waANkers squeal.

It would be like working for coke and telling everyone "dont drink it, it tastes like shite".

No honestly, we all really need to think about this, because it all seems to be going past to the keeper.

Imagine if you worked for coke. You rang the papers and told them you wanted to make a statement.
(this is what we all are reading from players and coaches, it's in all the papers for everyone to read)

So you told them you want to make a statement, they turn up and you tell em, this coke product is shite. ???????

WTF would you have a job the next day,,,,,????

Honestly, this code really needs to wake up.

Coaches and Players earn there crust off this code, so why are they allowed to demote the faking game.

Marketing and promotion. This has been the NRL's biggest problem, and anyone putting the game or products, or promotion events down should be fined, or at worst sacked.

After all, it is a job now, your being paid big money to play the game grow the game, and promote the game,. ? They all have sponsors.

If they dont like it, go play faking afl or union your bullocking tossers.

The 4nations Australian team had many stars missing. It was still a great tournament, the players that got the chance to pull on the green and gold felt honoured, players who might not be on top $ got to earn an extra $40k a game and the fans turned out to watch it. Cancelling the Ashes tour to give players a rest is David Smith's biggest blunder since taking office. There would have been plenty of players willing to put their hand up to become a Kangaroo. No one is forcing Cam smith or cooper cronk to play Origin or test matches.

Teams shouldn't be able to send too many elite players, every team should be allowed only 2 representative players . . . use the Nines to force lazy clubs to search out new talent

I have nothing against that popeye, how many star players they send. As i said the other day, dont nominate your superstars if we are only going to read day after faking day players dropping out.
It makes our code look amaturish, (which it is).

The real issue is coaches and players being able to sink the boot into this code with no punishment.
As i pointed out, it would happen in no other profession. They would be sacked for putting shite on their employer.

These people who are doing this (demoting our code) have no idea what this event means to the growth of the code,,,,in New Zealand, for the Womens game, (they are promoting the international womens league teams) and the refs as well. A few women are in the nines this year reffing.

This is all damage from some useless remarks. While the code is striving to grow, worldwide.

I lately have more respect for Freddie Fittler , he seems to love promt\oting our code.
Cam Smith and Gallen are just dumb and dumber. They dont seem to have a clue.
Sack both of them, who needs the mellon heads.
With players like these two promoting our code, who needs enemies.

I can just see union and afl laughing their tits off every time these two muppets open their mouths.

No wonder the Storm is no threat to AFL in Melbourne, they are probably pumping up the Storms tyres in Melbourne and thinking how lucky they are to have Bellamy, Cronk , Slater and Smith promoting league in Melbourne, or demoting it as they do.

As i said, spend a couple of million on American marketing and promotion managers, watch this code take off.

Fair points.
Look, i am not totally against Cam Smith and other players saying the season is too long.
It is, the NRL season needs to be shortened to 19 or 20 rounds.

This will allow you to add all these other events, keep the NRL season exciting, and stop player burnout./

Upping the prize money is the best way to keep all the clubs interested. As i said, money talks, bullshite walks.

As long as we keep growing all these events. International games,,,, all-stars,,,,,the Nines,,,,Origin, ,,,Island of Origin,,,,Anzac day,,,,,,and the World Club Challenge.
These events grow international audiences.

Market, promote, we need international audience.

Nofoaluma, Halatau, and Sironen all in the rehab squad atm. Moses had offseason surgery. Brooks playing All Stars the following week, I think 1 micky mouse game is enough to risk him in. Lodge has been stood down from training. So out of your list the only player who is not out with a reason is Galloway a large, slow Front Rower who would add absolutely nothing to the 9's. lol

and the 4 nations players? farah barely played, while johnson starred in most matches and hes playing.

so add in farah and taupau.

moses had offseason surgery? i bet he'll play at least 1 trial and will start round 1 bar any injury between now and then

lodge hadnt been stood down when the 9s squad was announced as far as im aware

Lodge incident occurred on Jan 11, just because it wasn't public doesn't mean he wasn't stood down. Farah and Taupau were still away from home traveling and training with the team. They returned to training after Christmas. I have no problem with a team deciding a player is underdone considering they have less than a months training completed. Now to Moses who had off season groin surgery and is an extremely young player, why would a team risk playing a kid coming off surgery in games that have absolutely no benefit to him at all.

Nofoaluma, Moses, Brooks, Galloway, Halatau, Sironen and Lodge.

I haven't checked the injury status, but I expect all to be ready for Round 1 and most for our trials.

and thats after removing all 4 nations players, which hasnt stopped some other clubs but fair enough for JT to rest them.

So because players will be fit to start the comp in March that makes them be fit for a comp in January? As for the players complaining don't back up after SOO or take useless pre season trips to
England

New to this but thought I would share a thought. Always believed a carrot worked better than a stick as fines etc won't really encourage players, coaches and clubs to participate more.
Why not invest another $1.6m into player payments for the event. Duco could pay the top 1-5 player per team a NRL salary cap exempt $100k for the weekend. That salary exemption could also be used by the clubs over the next three years as part of player contract negotiations. Clubs could offer first option top five player slots based on availability adding $100k bonus to their current contract.
I believe this would work for the following reasons:
1/ Clubs can use a $100k additional incentive to help secure /attract their blue chip player.
2/ Clubs will be happier because this salary cap exemption is paid for by the NRL approved DUCO sports company. Club does not have to raise the funding themselves.
3/ Duco/Nines are happy because they have a better chance of securing a Super star player for the event. Funding for player payments can be found through the price increases that the event has incurred this year.
4/ At least 16 players will be happier because they will earn $100k for one weekends work. If players ie Cameron Smith still don't want to play that's fine because maybe the clubs next best pick in the top five might want it. No pressure (except from the missus) you still don't have to play if you don't want to.
5/ Coaches may be happier because the extra money may help to secure their blue chip player at the club.

The money split could be different but I think the idea is sound.

Just a thought.

Watching the roosters and Broncos stacked with names play so crap I am starting to think having the right style of player is more important than having stars!

Having the stars is more for advertising and promotion of the game, more than the game itself.
With the tournament still in its infancy they need all the promotion they can get.
