Sharks fined $1M - way over the top given the small duration & duty of care breaches compared to the Essendon program. $500k would have been more appropriate.

Flanno suspended for 12 months. Sharpy can't be a head coach these days, so not sure what our options will be. Please keep Noddy well away from the joint !

THE Cronulla Sharks have been fined $1 million and Shane Flanagan has been suspended for 12 months over the ASADA scandal.
NRL CEO Dave Smith phoned the club this morning to officially hand down the punishment. The NRL will announce the penalties in a press release this afternoon.
Flanagan will have to sit out the entire 2014 season, but Cronulla officials have vowed to stand by him for the following year.
There is speculation the club's former halfback Brett Kimmorley will be appointed as coach for season 2014 to replace Flanagan.
Kimmorley has coached in the lower grades at the Bulldogs and the Canberra Raiders in recent years and lives in the shire.
