hrundi, isn't "Angels" at least 7 or 8 years old?

Is it?

Look, he is very successful, and very popular, and I'll even admt that he is a good performer and has good stage presence, but I just don't believe that his music will have genuine longevity.

At the end of the day, it's the songs and the albums that are important.

Out of all the stones songs would you have picked sympathy for the devil? Personally I think it is quite dull and much prefer the GNR version. Out of all their songs they picked that!

Just on the stones does anyone else really like that song they did in the late 90's 'anybody seen my baby'? For some reason I really used to like that song! Havent heard it in ages.

Well I don't prefer the GNR version of anything.

I don't really think any one Stones song stands out. Satisfaction maybe because it really launched them in a big way, but I think SFTD showed their depth.

There are others to choose from, but which would you single out?

That list lacks 'The Darkness', making it an absolute joke in my eyes. f**k The Kinks off and make room for some Darkness.

At the Kinks' expense, no less! Dear oh dear... I'm tempted to list the myriad of reasons as to why that is so so wrong, but there really is no need for windbaggery.

Only SFTD if it's the live one, but I'd say Jumpin' Jack Flash. Though I do have a personal 'honourable mention' to Paint It, Black.

You 'aint so bad yourself, halfy.

I don't care who gets cut, just as long as The Darkness are in there. Take out Robbie, if you must.

I am not a huge stones fan and so I am not sure what would be their best..... all I know is SFTD is definately a song I change stations if i hear it, does nothing for me and im sure of a band that got as big as them must have a better song.

Sympathy for the Devil only at number 9? Robbie Williams? There goes the credibility of this list.

These are the top 10 greatest british songs from Q magazine:

1. A Day In The Life - The Beatles
3. Wonderwall - Oasis
4. God Save The Queen - Sex Pistols
5. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
6. My Generation - The Who
9. Sympathy For The Devil - Rolling Stones

Robbie Williams in a best of Britian list is disgraceful, especially considering the absence of any Clapton, The Verve and Pink Floyd. Even though Radiohead are the most overrated band ever, they deserve to be there more than Robbie.

1. Layla - Derek And The Dominoes
2. Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin (how'd they miss this?)
3. Let It Be - The Beatles
4. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd (ditto)
5. Jumping Jack Flash - The Rolling Stones
6. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
7. My Generation - The Who
8. Wonderwall - Oasis
9. Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
10. Baby Please Don't Go - Van Morrison

That's a better list. I'd have 'Into the Mystic' there for Van Morrison, but that's just me. Who on earth are Derek and the Dominoes?

Eric Clapton, Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle, Jimp Gordon and Duane Allman. Only recorded one album (In a month and a half, mind you) which was a masterpiece and performed a handful of shows, but were brilliant (mainly because of having two of the best guitarists of all time playing together, Duane Allman was imo the best slide guitarist ever). The song Layla came from this group, although it's usually credited to Clapton alone because of the unplugged version.

Ah, that makes sense. I've heard the 'Clapton' song before - just had no idea who the band was. It's all clear to me now.
