Given the context of the game (time, score, finals etc) it was a poor play.

Here is the but: if he delayed his run by half a second, he scores untouched. It was a high risk, high reward play.

And to me that's how we've gotten to the dance in 2020. Playing what's in front of you, and taking your chances. Attacking the bouncing ball.
I said that to my wife. He just needed it to break the line and he runs 50 to score. He needed 1 second!

lol no. Centre is primarily a defensive position, you don't just make do with weak ones.

Well I kinda think you do. That's why he played last night and throughout our winning streak.

That same 17 will be named in two weeks time. Whare is the only real option and he has been MIA for a long time. He won't be in the team barring injuries.

And if we have a weakness it is that. We missed chances not playing Whare in Round 20 and earlier in the year when Naden was on the wing

I gotta admit the occasion got to us a little, we didn’t start well. It’s like they were so focused on it being just another game they had relaxed so much and forgot they actually to play the game. Then when we got to 28-10 we were silly with the carry on after the try. I don’t mind sticking up for team mates but they went on with it to much, no reason to give guys like Teddy extra motivation, you could there was to long left for them to be acting like the game was over. We gave away a dumb penalty and all of a sudden the roosters have 90 percent of the ball for the next 20 minutes.

Young team was always going too. Once Tamou cameback on it settled down

Its 100% a weakness. But its not as if we didn't see it coming. The Roosters have the best short side attack in the NRL. As expected we got punished. Fortunately we found a way to play 40 minutes of our normal game and during that time we blew them off the park.

I'm more concerned with our early and late game jitters. As well as our use of the interchange.

Well I don't know as to Whare's match readiness, but the more I think about it May is an option. We could have Naden on the bench as cover and May starting. We could have used more May out there last night, problem is he hasn't looked particularly sound defensively at centre either, but he couldn't really be any bigger a liability than Naden was.

They're probably disappointed that that that they didn't get their brown paper bag's worth from the match officials

I dunno. Those repeated soft penalties coming off their own line were decent value I thought. Pretty much the only thing that kept them in it.

Naden has always been a defensive liability. We are only noticing now because we are suddenly getting challenged by quality opposition. Great teams expose your weaknesses.

That was our best 17 last night. Wouldn't change a thing.

Oi. I've been noticing the entire time!

I’m keen to rewatch the last half hour to see how we let them back in.
They had a lot of possession. Looked like the first Parra game over again but this time they held on. Only a really dumb error by Naden got them back to a one point deficit.
