No.......he cried in his teams dressing sheds.
Which was then broadcast on National television....

No point in splitting hairs about whether he was aware he was on tv or not, the point is he is wailing at half time, hardly the type of player you want to carry during an Origin match when he is obviously not in the right frame of mind.

Now that you have found some small insignificant anomoly with point 2 of my previous post, is there anything else that you would disagree with or am I correct in saying he should not be there and Queensland should pick an in form winger?

Crying was embarrasing but imo its irrelevant to selection, his form on the other hand doen't warrant selection, after his defence last year id be happy if he wasnt picked. All the players in contention for that spot are good enough finishers, especially playing outside Inglis and co, so its defense you should be looking at imo.

I agree, the crying part of it just adds to the other points you mentioned and as a whole they are massive red flags not to select him.

Yeah ........I can't see Meninga dropping a player who has been a QLD stalwart since 2008 and has done NOTHING wrong in SOO

for

Ash Graham.

Agree.......Harrison stays, unless poor form dictates a change.

.
So you do agree with dropping a player if poor form dictates?

Kind of contradicts your views on Boyd. Which is it stalwart or drop on form, concerned readers want to know where you stand on this?

Btw stalwart? That is taking it just a tad to far:crazy: Maybe hanger on would be a better description.

Is fieldsguy Ash Graham in disguise?
Can anyone picture Qld losing the series on the back of Darius Boyd and then thinking afterwards 'gees we would have won if only we'd picked Ash Graham'

The comment I made in the other thread was purely based on Corey Parkers outstanding form last year and so far this year.

I don't think Ash Graham's form is in the same league....do you?

If another winger was out there that DEMANDED selection, then you might have a case.

Unfortunately for you, there isn't.

Loyalty is something QLDr's pride themselves upon.

That's obviously a bit different for you guys in NSW, who chop and change at the slightest of whims.

I think Cherry Evans might have played himself out of the utility spot tonight. In previous series when we had Cronk, Hunt etc in that position, you knew you could count on them in defence.

Cherry-Evans... the way Glenn ran over him... not so much.

If anyone thinks that Boyd is any chance in the world of getting dropped they know nothing about rugby league.

And people mentioning Ash Graham, jesus christ.

Boyd is quality and will be back to all class surrounded by the QLD'rs and not the Newcastle nuffies.

Agreed on all counts.

I know I was pushing for DCE. However, I will concede that whilst his attack still looks sharp, his defensive capabilities are being questioned a lot lately.

Although with Glenn running over him tonight....DCE was on the back foot and I doubt that even Cronk could have stopped him that far out.

Seeing the way the season is panning out thus far, I'm happy enough to see DCE go around another season or two, possibly bulk/harden up a tad...... before throwing him into the pressure cooker that is SOO.

Wonder if McGuire played himself into a Maroons jersey tonight. Was immense and basically forced Civo to only play 24 minutes.

I'm thinking more Civoniceiva.

I don't think I'd do it yet if I was a selector but there have been murmurs of Civo being overlooked for awhile now.

I really can't see QLD doing that to Petro in his last year before retirement.

Thought he was good tonight, when on the field. If anything Hook for mine left McGuire on for too long. He looked totally knackered when he dropped that pass for a hit up in the later stages.

Exit McGuire > enter Civo. Reliable old hand was needed at that stage to grind it out for a win.

Nearly got there......

Would he replace Shillington on the bench....?

Personally, maybe it's a tad premature.

mcguire for lillyman, ash graham for yoh yeh, cherry-evans for locky [cronk to start], gillett for parker, and dave taylor misses out. my 4 changes from game 3 last year
