Makes a change from hearing NSW fans say ......SOO doesn't mean that much anymore .......we're only interested in our club sides.

and the boot would be on the other foot if the results were different

I mean it makes a joke out of State of Origin when players are clearly not playing for their state of origin. Some are not even playing for the Country of Origin.

The whole situation could easily be fixed if they simply changed the name to Team A V. Team B.

It clearly has nothing to do with a players origin.

Still the best footy you'll see all year though.

That Queensland chip on the shoulder sure is coming through nice and strong in this thread. Love to see how defensive the toads get when they are proven cheaters.

Throw around your "Steve Rogers" all you like. Fact is that Queensland "passion" comes from 80 years of NSW taking the best Qld players and then belting what was left of the QRL. Now, Qld takes players from around the world, but its ok because they have that "Queensland passion!".

Massive joke.

2005 ..........?

Oh so long ago.......the last time a NSWelshman had something to smile about.

 Nah, they were lamenting that "Origin is dead". God help them if/ when NSW win 5 on the dot- will we even still have the Origin series by that point?

Call NSW fans whingers and sooks all you like, but the fact is that with the unacceptable dross that has been served up by the NSWRL since 2006, and 100+ NRL matches in Sydney this year, there will still be at least 70,000 Blues fans in ANZ Stadium come Origin 2 who have hope that this is the year the tide turns back in our favour. The world hasn't ended for us. We know the wheel turns sooner or later.

anyway, on topic:

First senior footy = bullsh*t. Make the criteria 5 years residency under the age of 18. If you are eligible for both, you pick the one you feel closest to. If you don't meet the residency criteria by the time you are 18, you shouldn't be playing Origin anyway (this applies to Kiwis who come to QLD at 15 and are suddenly QLDers).

Imo is the best way to both have a fair competition and keep state passion at its maximum. I don't agree with choosing by birth. Wouldn't make sense if someone was born in NSW and then spent the next 20 years of their life bending bananas and was forced to play for NSW.

So you think it's not "fair" at the moment.....OMG.

There's nothing wrong with the current set-up. Weather your a Kiwi...a Pom ....a Tongan or even a

gasp!

........a NSWelshman.

It is as it should be.......it's where you played/registered your first "senior" footy in the NRL.

If there's any doubt. Let the player decide. You shouldn't force him to play for a state he thinks is sh*t......ie: NSW.
