Look there's no point in any of us complaining and when all's said and done we'll be supporting each and every player that represents the Maroons. It'd be criminal not to.

If Mal is able to shake things up when need be, Queensland will win. There is no doubt in my mind.

i know boyd has been in actually decent form this year, but i just dont know how that happened.

the rest of the side looks the goods. would prefer to see hunt wearing the 1, but to see slater at fullback and hunt on the bench can still be a good thing.

Once again, "when in doubt just pick a bronco", Boyd is barely first grade quality, Hannant was rubbish in game one. Not since David Staggs selection has a QLD jersey been so cheapened.

No I think that was when Webb and Lillyman were selected for game 1. There's plenty of other dud Cowboys we've had to endure through the years as well.

I think Boyd is a good selection as well. Slater deserved another shot at fullback after this season's form so you couldn't really punt him from fullback and moving him to the wing or centre would only weaken us defensively as well as take away what he does best on attack.

So that left us with an open wing position with 2 contenders really Hunt and Boyd. Hunt adds much more value as a utility on the bench being able to cover numerous positions while Boyd is a specialist winger and a bloke in form. I don't get the uproar, if there were a tonne of classy Qld specialist wingers running around then I'd pick them in a heartbeat but the reality is that all we've got right now is Boyd.

Suprisingly I'm not to baffled over Boyd's selection. Although he isn't outstanding, he is very reliable, will do his job and not make stupid errors. That is why he was chosen.

I do wonder if Steve Michaels wasn't injured out for the season, would he have gotten the wing spot ahead of him? Just a thought.
