Michael Witt is great with goal line drop outs ;-) Something for Manly fans to look forward to seeing.
After watching Mullane kick and pass the ball into every available grandstand this year, at least we can say that he can keep it on the field of play. Even if it does go 10 metres backwards.

if you you look at the circumstances in which we were in at the time it was a very difficult drop out to make.

I've actually done that before  . It often happens when you mistime a droppy and hit it at the very top of it's bounce, right on the bottom point. And yes, it's embarrassing when it happens in a game (only happened to me once thank god, mate of mine has done it a few times  ).

As for Witty, he's a far better defender than Walker, and has a good kicking and passing game. His one problem is that he doesn't run the ball very often and can get predictable. As for losing Walkers goal-kicking, I wouldn't worry as Witty is a gun goal-kicker.

Thanks Bazal!

Sounds like he is more suited to 1/2 than 5/8 where you need more of a running game, which Monaghan does well!

The picture is even more depressing should one of these get injured. It seems as though our best option is still Mullane. Heaven preserve us!"

Well I have two words for you and this guy is seriously the answer.........Luke Phillips

I know he plays mostly fullback but he's played five eighth a few times and he has been exception when he has played there. Also Luke Williamson can fill in.

I've posted this in a Manly forum regarding our halves (or lack of them) for next year. I'd appreciate the insight you parra guys can give on witt. Am I on the right track with what I say?

"Walker’s brain explosion and subsequent chasing of a thin white line means that we’ve lost our primary five eighth from this year. He was also our goal kicker. He has been replaced by Michael Witt. The club should be commended for getting hold of him, for there was precious little else on the market.

However, he has only a handful of first grade games under his belt and is unproven in the furnace of the big games. He is also known more for his defensive capabilities than for setting alight a team’s attack – and it’s not as if there’s much outside of him to pass the ball to (more of that another time).

Monaghan progressed well this year but it remains to be seen if he can stand up and be counted against quality opposition. He didn’t seem up to it in the latter part of Canberra’s 2003 season! The fact that we’re not sure which one of Witt and Monaghan will play where quite literally shows how much the Manly half combination is at sixes and sevens.

The picture is even more depressing should one of these get injured. It seems as though our best option is still Mullane. Heaven preserve us!"

Pretty accurate, although his running game needs a lot of work.

great defence, big hits...possibly a bigger hitter then Kylie Leuluai ;-)

What are you smoking??? Never have I seen Witt pull off a big hit. His small so his targeted a lot but is average at best.

i think Phillips was possibly using humor or and/or sarcasm UTE, perhaps even denoted by the use of the ;-) icon?????? ;-)

Thanx for stating the obvious

well you were the fool who resposnded with a serious post to it and wondered what the person was smoking......   tool...
