If we somehow managed to score a decent halfback for next year I'd be pretty excited about our chances

Which halfback, though? Does such a creature exist? The ones available are pants and way, way over-priced. I would get somewhat excited if we signed Richie Myler... I followed his early career years back and he was an absolute gun by ESL standards. He's only 24 and is England's halfback... he's yet to peak and could be huge for us if it came off. He wants to come to the NRL next year and is off-contract. If we jag him, then I MIGHT just get excited.

In his press release, Mickey Paea stated he was impressed by the direction of the Knights for 2016. This could very easily just be new-signing fluff talk... but there's a small possibility that he's been told we're going hard after Richie.

I wish I knew the best option. As you said, I'd rather take a chance on somebody than continue with our current options.

He totally looks like DannyB mk2.

we'll file that one with "the next cameron smith", and "the next israel folau".

Hasn't it pretty much been the same for 10 years? It's only really been in the past 2-3 odd years that we've had anyone in our pack that could rack up over 100m consistently.

snowden, cuthbo and now tariq is probably it.

chances of what? we're losing scott, BJ, Gids and Faalogo (4 starters) and replacing them with mickey paea. A halfback who knew what they were doing might get us to 13 wins and 7th place instead of the 9 or 10 wins we'd otherwise get. But Stone is all in on Roberts, so nothing to worry about!

Won't really miss BJ, Fa'alogo or Gids tbh. Scott is a big hole to fill though obviously.

they're all in our best 13 at the moment imo, certainly 17.

stone is obviously all in on the young guys that have been retained in the last 18 months. if they don't show a whole lot of improvement its going to be a spectacular failure and he'll be out of a job this time next year.

We're going to miss Scott's defence and leadership but Rochow is certainly a solid fill in and Tapine is going to do well off the bench.

Said it when we lost him, we're not exactly going to be f**ked.

Scott is the only loss there not covered by someone better or with the potential to be imo

Even then we will have Rochow back who was turning into a really good FG backrower so its kinda covered as far as FGers go. Our depth and bench is what suffers, especially if we dont sign any other decent forwards over the off season

Don't really agree tbh.

Gids is better at 7 than Roberts/Randell/Carlos/whoever is getting trotted out in 2016.
BJ's solo efforts are one of the few ways we cross the stripe. Either Gagai stays at FB and we get Chanel or Pat or someone in the centres, which is a downgrade, or Mamo plays FB which is a huge huge question mark.

I'll give you that Paea will probably be better than old man Dave.

Gids needs to move on, there is no question about that. I personally think Tui showed he had enough to be a better option going forward. He is a talent

BJ does offer x factor but his brain explosions cost us plenty and cost us often. IMO the bad is outweighing the good in 2015. Id be leaving Gags at FB and bringing Chanel into the centres. He is big and strong and can finish. Ive liked his work at centre for our NSWCup team and has been setting up his outside man Tuha nicely

Myler is coming for opportunity and not money according to UK reports. He wants a couple of years and if he fires will up his price. We are daft if we don't at least enquire.

Pretty confident of a victory tomorrow. If we can aim up abit in defence I think we can get the points. The Raiders will be frustrated after recent losses and we'll take advantage of that.

Everyone around me seems confident the Knights will win.

I can't see anything but a Raiders win, by 10 points at least.

If I take off my red and blue glasses , arent we playing the team that has scored the most ponts so far this season
to win we either need and outstanding attacking or defensive effort - not sure if we are able to do either at the moment :(

I think our attack has been pretty good lately considering how disrupted the team and especially the halves have been.

It's the defence that worries me a lot.
