Just remember guys. Things could be worse. You could be stuck at home without a working TV and dishwasher…goodnight all
The saddest part is I can't even get worked up enough to throw the remote. They aren't worth the high blood pressure and stress. I'd say that's in the top 3 worst Dragons performances in the last 5 years and those tries conceded were the softest you will see on a rugby league field. Not that I was complacent about what Dolphins could do to us at home after a poor showing but 1-17 they are not even close to one of the best teams and they absolutely slaughtered those Dragons. Not worth getting worked up over until we become a proper team.

I was getting nervous tingles before the match because I thought possibly they might be the group to do the club proud this season, win, loss or draw but its clear that isn't the case. That was not part of a rebuild but an abomination.

Enjoyed the laugh though.

We reverted back to our usual game of bargeball tonight. Very disappointing. There was no attempt at doing anything different.
FMD the dolphins have just scored again with 40 in sight and still 7 minutes to go. They could have at least waited till I finished my message. Over to you Flanno!

Goodnight!!
I knew the lynch mob would be back out after 1 poor game.
honestly dont think this game is us. It looks bad and like prior years.
I always thought we would be flat after throwing everything into last week.
No excuse but I thought we tried hard but were not up to speed or pace tonight.
Dolphins were up quick, we weren't
Yep it feels like back to earth, but saw some good moments in attack tonight but nothing went for us and we were down on energy and no polish
Here's hoping we are better at home

The irony that Bud would be awesome #14 for us! But give him a chance to make it @7 first!
Bud has moved on. Did not want to play for us and asked for release twice. Best of luck to him with tigers. So let's move on and concentrate on the cattle we have.

For next week I think Flanno should drop 3 players: Muhleisen, Leilua and M Molo. Bring in Marshke, Couchman or Fifita and BMM or Sele if he is fit. Probably start with Marshke and make Flanno Jnr number 14.

I know Flanno is a great fan of Bird, but he is not the same player that played for Flanno at Sharks and played 5 state of origin games. Sadly injuries and age have caught up with him. Time for him seriously consider super league at the end of this year. The unfortunate thing is that we really have nobody to replace him this year. Feagais have been tried and both have been found out and Allan and Ramsey are out for the season and the rest are young kids not first grade ready.

On a positive note, Lomax was a stand-out again.
Would have been 60-0 without him.. his fitness is immense.. he started nearly every set and usually backed up for a 2nd carry, always pushing a few extra metres. 185m tonight with 81 PCM, running the ball from the 5m line all night.. His fitness is our secret weapon.. we just need a few other weapons to assist..

Actually surprised to see Rava had plenty of metres also, yet I didnt even seem to notice.. might have been a couple of half breaks down his edge.

Back in 2018, I went to an Anzac game, coach Mary walked past me and a Roosters supporter screams out, your club is Shit. The Irony, i used to think the same way about the Roosters, back in the 1990s, f**k haven't times changed, St George Illawarra is pure shit club, over a decade of pure diabolical performances, the DNA is Illawarra steelers, not the St George Dragons.
I was one that came out to slam Ben Hunt for wanting to leave, I will be happy to drive him to T3 Sydney Airport, one way to the Brisbane Broncos a chance of winning a premiership.
Don't worry Flanno, I would sign you to a 10 year contract if your crazy to take it, no one can save this shit club!
Not so sure if you can blame the Illawarra Steelers, because, 1975 St George Dragons got thrashed 38 to nil by eastern suburbs. Illawarra Steelers had nothing to do with it.

Dragons flew out to brisbane on sat arvo. So it's not the conditions or some sort of camp in qld issue lol.

Their excellent line speed & ruck domination meant we were always on the back foot. We held on in the 1st half but it gassed us too much in the 2nd half, especially when we made dumb errors.

Our line speed, ability to win the ruck & make effective tackles was poor. We also didn't have proper attacking shape & were caught out too often with 1 out hit ups or flat footed runs. Some very poor organisation, as a result of our heavy defensive work load & regular errors imo.

A really disappointing performance tonight but for fans to overreact to last week & now this week shows the fickle nature of our supporter group.

Let them play a block of games before passing judgement.

1 week is along time in rugby league and on this forum for the same posters to do 180"s in respect to their hopes and judgment on the team.
We were off the pace tonight definitely and deserved to lose and it was a very disappointing 2nd half.
Bit of perspective to where we all thought we were before the trials.
They have still exceeded my expectations thus far this year in many forms.

Agree with that. RFM much less effective as a middle I think. Maybe Blocka is still troubled by the rib cartilage. Liddle ordinary for mine.Watching the presser very different to Hook era, blunt assessment and looking at changes. Seles will likely come in but again will be underdone but all hands on deck…
Liddle was knocked into next week by a hip..he was lucky to stay on after 20

That's a grand final, the true St George Dragons were a strong club in the 70's, they won the 77 and 79 grandfinals. The Storm were thrashed in a GF against Manly, but went on to win GFs and still remain a force.
Just call this club Illawarra Steelers and be done with it.
