I just saw that Ashley Klein was axed from 1st grade reffing this weekend. Craig Bellamy had claimed Klein had a bias against the Storm after our win last Saturday.
Does this take anything away from our win?
I didn't notice any calls that went our way that didn't seem fair enough (through red and blue glasses), did anyone notice any bad calls?
His performance was on a par, if not better, than a hell of a lot of other games between other clubs I've watched the season. If he's been sacked for that then 3 or 4 other refs need the spear on a weekly basis. Just look at the Shane Hayne's origin performance in game 1, yet he got the game 2 gig. We all remember the penalties we copped in Mlb earlier in the year. One in particular still sticks out - Kurt giving a little facial massage at a critical time in the game and the pea being blown out of the whistle as a result. Yet, since then I can not count the amount of times I've seen this occur without any penalty being given.
Does Klein's axing take a way from the victory last week?? Not really. What comes around, goes around. I think we've copped plenty of shit calls the past few seasons. Our supercoach has rarely said much about it. Yet Bellamy has a cow, criticises the ref, no fine for Bellamy, ref gets the arse. I think it's a bad look for Bellamy and the coaches' boss tbh.
