yet again penrith fail to play the full 80 minutes and let the roosters make the score look alot more respectable than it deserves to.

Nevertheless we won and I'm glad to have offloaded that wooden spoon...well, for now at least anyway.

Spoon avoided?? A good win despite an ordinary last half hour. But surely Newcastle won't beat Wests will they??

Its very sweet to knock the Roosters out. They never deserved a finals berth with the way they played for the first 16 weeks. Of course neither do we but I think we deserve to avoid the spoon based on recent form.

I still hope we can beat the Warriors in Gowie's last game for the club.

I know the rest of our season sucked, but for now I will take whatever joy I can to tide me over the off season.

Win or lose the wooden spoon.....at this point it doesn't really matter, cause I am a happy happy happy little vegemiter tonight.

5 wonderful things happened tonight over 2 games that will keep me feeling cosy and a little smile on my face until the new season rolls around again.

What 5 things can I possibly come up with ??? Well here they are:--


1) Our premier league team scored a 54 - 18 win over the jets which means that they sewed up a win for us in this years club championship......which by the way is a first ever for us......WHOOHOO.

2) We beat the Goosters (every single time that happens is a great day)

3) We ruined Fittler's and the Gooster's chance to get in the 8.

4) We almost made Fittler cry.......down on the sideline right before the end (on camera) he was a whisker away from it.:lol:

5) And last but not least..........we are off the bottom of the ladder.......maybe just for this week, but then again......maybe for good.

I've been wondering the same thing myself. I also asked the same question in 2005 and 2006 when we made late season charges...

Really, with the team that is starting to emerge, we SHOULD make the 8 next year.

The operative word is should.

All the same, great game last night - wasn't happy how we took the foot of the gas though in the last 30, though. We really could have put 50 on them.
