Rabbitohs add Ben Hornby to coaching staff as Development Coach

Unfortunately Ben was surround by the wrong crowd and was unfairly the scapegoat.
He will only learn and benefit under Wayne Bennet.
Hopefully he will come back one day when all the so called "deadwood" dissappears.
He will always be a one club dragons legend.

Ben has been employed as a development coach which sounds like a pretty different role to what he had under Mary.

Sounds like he will be focusing on pathways, skills development etc, rather than working directly with the NRL squad regarding tactics, game plans etc.

Probably the right role for him at this stage of his career, and he may eventually develop into a very good assistant or head coach . Not really sure he or Dean Young had the right credentials to be NRL assistants (they only had 1 year of coaching 20's??), which made the fact we had a completely useless head coach, just add to the mess that was our coaching staff.

Benny Hornby is the big winner here.

Irrespective of what role he plays at Souths, he is on the staff of a top coach.

Dean Young remains as an assistant to Mary. Enough said.

So Head retains the Canterbury Cup coaching job and all other assistants inclucing HOrnby but excluding Dean Young are let go. What does that tell you?
