Speaking on Immortal Behaviour however, Johns said Ilias is a halfback and shouldn't be moved into the number nine role.

"I see him as a halfback. I don't see him as a dummy half.

"I really like him. There was a time there when he had that really good combination on the right there with Keaon Koloamatangi. He was flying, but then he has had some injuries [not true before he broke his leg in NSW Cup Andrew], lost a bit of confidence. I think he would be a really good buy.

"I really like him as a halfback in the right team. I think he would be really good at the Dogs because defensively he is really strong and they base their game around defence, and the other one is Manly. Daly is coming to the end, although Daly could play until he is 40.

"For me right now, the Dogs are a really good fit."

"I think he will want to play halfback, I don't think he will want to play dummy half. It's such a specialised position."

Hi speedster with due respect id like a few on here to think about this below:

A. ilias vs reynolds how did that turn out it was a horrendous flop.
B. Ilias vs cookie it is insane to think of this scenario it beggars belief that people can think this way. This will also be an horrendous flop.

It was never illias v Reynolds because Reynolds had left and it’s not ilia’s v cook because cook has left and if ilia’s gets picked in first grad thats on Wayne and I’m willing to punt on Wayne knowing more about footy than anyone on this forum

shaq and Ben Lovett resigned for 1yr.

I think you've got to remember that we have to balance the salary cap which means sometimes having to let go of a high salary player and replace them with a much cheaper up and coming junior that you hope blossoms into a star over time.

There's only so much a club should spend on the spine compared to forwards and backs in order to have a balanced squad.

Can't keep 'em all mate. So, all clubs have to take a gamble on either an older more experienced player, a younger kid with potential or a journeyman that fits what you need.

You can't keep 'em all plus you can't get every call right either. For every call made that turns out to be a flop, there are hopefully more calls made that turned out to be a success and we shouldn't cherry pick the examples that suit your argument in isolation while ignoring the rest of the picture.

Having said that, the call to not offer Reyno more than 1 guaranteed season was a shocker. That's my 2 bob's worth mate.

All good.

The dogs will not sack JAC, they will tell him they are not offering a new contract and he is free to test the market nov1, hopefully another team wants him and will pay all his wage and he asks for a release, they then ,reluctantly, lol release him, not looking like they sacked him, and they may even ask for a transfer fee or replacement player.
Meanwhile we dont have cap space for him,and our prop stocks are at there lowest

Peter Hola from the raiders was just told that his team option isn’t being picked up. Could be a cheap option for another prop also

We can offer them Ilias and/or Host. ;) Then, we need to find a big rawboned next big thing in the lower grades. I like Lisati or someone like that.

There's a few no name reserve grade props who could make the step up. But this is where you need good talent scouts who have been watching them all closely to identify the real talent coming through. I have not seen enough of this bloke to form an opinion.
