I agree, our cap management has seemingly been pretty poor these last few years but I'm not freaking out that we're not signing star players because currently, we don't really need to. I thin we have a great squad (despite depth being an issue) and the amount of amazing young guys coming through means that currently, we don't need to sign star players in my opinion.

Telecrap: Broncos CEO Paul White and Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly were in contact over the weekend
Does this imply that there's still a chance of it happening? I think it's highly unlikely now but you never know.

I agree we have a great squad and I actually think we have a good shot at the premiership in 2019 with Seibold or Bennett.

I don’t know if there is a chance of a swap happening, but I hope our players are not affected with what’s happening.

Well Bennett is in Sydney for the coaches conference so I have no doubt that the club will be reaching out to him to try and negotiate something. From a few reports I've read, I get the impression that for the swap to happen now, it has to be Wayne's decision to walk away from the Brisbane, the Broncos aren't going to sack him. Still holding out hope it will happen but I must admit, it's looking increasingly unlikely.

They dont want to fork out 900k i dont blame them, this is effecting us more than them, the only way it will work is if we pay half. If he at least sent Demitriou as caretaker that would do the trick. Bennets only ever thought of bennet

Ive come to the conclusion that the NRL is in a shambles,a mess!
All this contract hoping and releasing is so wrong, the nrl should step in and advise all parties that its finished, you sign a contract you stick by it any differences to be adjudicated by the nrl ,now widop want out with 3 years to go leaving the merge in a royal mess.
No signing of contracts until your current one is finished etc its become a laughing stock

Souths paid out Madge and the broncs should do the same.

Broncos CEO Paul white may lose his job over this shambles.

Broncos shareholder Phil Murphy warns club to make coach swap now or risk 2019 wooden spoon

NOVEMBER 27, 2018

The Broncos’ largest private shareholder Phil Murphy has called for Wayne Bennett and Anthony Seibold to complete a straight swap immediately or risk Brisbane finishing with the wooden spoon.

Breaking his silence on the most turbulent coaching saga in Brisbane’s 30-year history, Broncos part-owner Murphy urged hierarchy to release Bennett urgently for the sake of the club’s 2019 season.

A multi-millionaire property tycoon, Murphy understands better than most the implications of the messy Bennett-Seibold affair on the respective finances of the Broncos and Rabbitohs.

Broncos part-owner Phil Murphy wants an end to the coaching saga.

But Murphy, who owns 22 per cent of the Broncos, also fears Brisbane could be in danger of claiming the first wooden spoon in their history if Seibold isn’t at the helm at Red Hill in the coming weeks.

“The best thing Brisbane can do is to make a swift decision, finalise a payout for Wayne Bennett and let everybody get on with life,” said Murphy, who outlaid an estimated $4.6 million for his stake in the Broncos.

“I just don’t understand why it has gone on so long. It started before the finals last season and it’s still going on.

“If anyone in business gives 12 months notice, the best thing for everybody is to make a departure happen quickly.

“I’ve seen this happen in my own business where people give notice and hang on for a few months and it becomes like a disease in the place.

“The Broncos’ players and their families can’t be relaxed if there is constant uncertainty over their coach.

“The players have to have 100 per cent focus on the year ahead.

“If they don’t, I can tell you that the Broncos and South Sydney will be in the battle for the wooden spoon next season if the status quo remains.

“I don’t say that to be derogatory to the clubs. But when people aren’t 100 per cent focused in a football club, you can’t win a premiership.”

Murphy believes Brisbane’s reputation has taken a hit over Bennett’s fight to remain at Red Hill and he urged the super coach to consider a financial compromise to bring stability to the Broncos.

“It’s not good for Souths and the Broncos unless there is an immediate resolution,” he said.

“The Broncos have been recognised as the No.1 sporting brand in this country for a long time and they have been very successful, but it’s no good at all for any sporting organisation to be in this mess.

“The Broncos are not just a sporting club, they are a business.

“I’m a property developer. If I go into a council meeting and say this is what I want and council says we can’t give you that, but we can do this, at least I can come to a resolution and I can get on with business.

“I have no issue with Anthony Seibold’s appointment. It seems to be a very good move and I think it’s the best thing for both parties to get it sorted immediately. Seibold can be good for the club.

“Wayne is a great coach, but as strong as he is mentally, he will find it almost impossible to be 100 per cent focused next season on the job at hand.

“If two people are at loggerheads, you need to find some common ground. As long as Wayne stands his ground, it won’t get resolved.”

Unfortunately, I think it's us that could end up with the wooden spoon.

Don’t know about Bennett backflipping on Souths. I would say the opposite is more of a possibility.

The deal was done in the hope that it would be done for 2019. If Bennett sticks with the Broncos there’s a fair chance that we ditch him and go with someone else.
Souths should move on from Bennett, we can see what his intentions are and they are affecting Souths.
If Bennett can not come over for 2019 season, then tear up his "letter of intent/contract"
Piss him off!
Piss off Bennett.

Wally Lewis Twitter - South Sydney bosses have had enough - Wayne Bennett and Anthony Siebold have until the end of the week to make a decision on their plans for next year. Hear the latest on Bennett's move tonight @9NewsQueensland at 6pm.

I think we have to play tough with this and give Bennett a deadline to make up his mind because this is just dragging on far too long. Everyday it carries on, both clubs suffer which isn't good for anyone. I'm still hoping that we will be coached by Bennett in 2019 but either way, this needs to end soon and we need some certainty before all the senior players return to training.

Apparently Wayne Bennett Had Already Organised A Rabbitohs Training Camp: https://www.triplem.com.au/sport/nr...d-already-organised-a-rabbitohs-training-camp
