What we need IMO for next year
Winger
Centre
5/8
Hooker
2 props
And a hard hitting 2nd rower

Sths[& Maguire]are on the nose & have been finding it extremely difficult to attract one topline player let alone 7 players.

Sths may need those positions filled but they have Buckley's chance of succeeding!!

Don't need superstar to make a great team mate. We need the right players for the style Madge or who ever the coach is next year wants. At the moment players like Keary, McInnes, Turner, Clark and Tyrell don't suit the style of play Madge wants to play

The Panthers have worked hard on promoting young players & seem to be on the right track. They should continue to play their open style of footy. They are a joy to watch.

They will become proficient at a flamboyant style--practice makes perfect with most things!!

Sths,on the other hand have practised a very formal approach which has become very predictable. There have been signs in recent weeks though that we are gradually changing our tune & that is a good thing.

Players like Cody can be magic if given some free rein--he should never be blinkered.
He re-signed with Sths so he must have seen an outlet for his creative, running game.

I do believe Madge is beginning to change to a significant degree--he had to!!

Put in a number of very good up & comers around GI & Sam, & a licence to run freer, would be a positive thing for the Sth's team & its fans!!

Hard to disagree with what you say and I think it will be a blessing when Keary leaves at years end.

keary was fine in 2014 for madge's style. if we had more good forwards, keary and reynolds would go better

They may have ended up as duds as u say but when first recruited they were ok tyrell has been here too long and needdd moving on some players after being at the same club for a while just become complacent you have to be smart enough to identify and move them on

Would have to disagree about Tyrell being a dud signing.
He's a premiership winning prop.
Was signed as a winger and ended up winning the title as a prop.
Not only has Dave had to learn new positions over his career but he has had to adapt his body to the position he now plays.
His longevity in 1st grade has been remarkable really.
Is he past his best.....yes.
Should he still be in first grade...probably not.
But Dave Tyrell definitely not a dud signing.
We've definitely got our money's worth out a Dave.
He wore the Red and Green!

Dave is past it now but he has been tremendous value over a long period.

I remember when he was being talked about as a QLD SOO bench player!!

A player doesn't play 1sts in the NRL for as long as he has if he's a DUD!!

Id agree with this surmation Dave was great until last year the knockout from that dirty dog Graham in the GF the Matai hit demoralised and scared him he is suffering from heart trouble in my opinion

Handyman that's exactly the way I see it as well,it's not his knees it's his heartiledge that's suffering from those moments, and I don't blame him a bit
Although it's clear for all it's time to give it up as no longer at first grade level at all
