SOUTH Sydney back-rower Kyle Turner is set to make his return from a spinal injury this weekend.
Turner suffered the injury in the NRL All Stars game in February and was sidelined indefinitely following surgery.
However, the 23-year-old will likely make his return for Rabbitohs’ feeder club North Sydney on Sunday against Wentworthville in the NSW Cup at North Sydney Oval.
Fellow back-rower Chris McQueen said Turner’s return was a big boost for Souths, with eight rounds to play before the finals.
“It has not been easy for him but he is still quite young. All the boys were supporting him and he knew if he did the right things he would get back on the paddock,” McQueen said “He has been great around training, he has absolutely ripped in. He has got his body right.
“He was showing some good form early on. He will come back into the team and we expect him to be right back where he was.”
Fresh off the bye, Souths meet the struggling St George Illawarra Dragons, who have lost five games in a row, at the SCG on Saturday night in round 19 of the NRL
