We get that, but why keep the media speculating either make a decision or make no comment. Simple
Our rugby league illiterate administration would b oblivious to the importance of giving the boneheads media training!

Another quality which isaac's parrots (except Brooks) r devoid of is humility but unfortunately unlike media training this can't b taught !

One can only image the kind of tirade the conceited wanka Benji was subjected to from Bennett when it was revealed that via fox nrl sports he was critical of Milford for being a poor trainer & unfit.Classic case of someone living in a glasshouse ..,

When money is so important to these players its a wonder the majority of them don't self manage their own contracts and affairs, crickey its not rocket science and if your not sure of something, see a solicitor or accountant, which would be a lot cheaper than coughing up 10-15% for player managers.

Exactly. I use the example of investing. No one who has any idea now uses a financial adviser. The returns are typically better if you just invest in an index fund and the cost is heaps less. These player managers aren't getting extra money for their clients. Mitchell Moses has lost money. I'd be taking money off the table for all of these guys if they don't sign soon. When you add to that the fee they will take these guys aren't too bright.

Wests Tigers assistant Paul Stringer walks out on club
Adrian Proszenko
Published: April 15, 2017 - 8:00PM

Paul Stringer has become the latest staffer to part company with Wests Tigers, but believes the remaining members of the club's "big four" should not follow suit after being afforded "red carpet" treatment to stay.

Stringer was one of three assistant coaches at the club, but felt he couldn't remain after a series of controversies, including the axing of Jason Taylor and the saga surrounding controversial "football whisperer" Joe Wehbe.

The former Eels, Rabbitohs, Northern Eagles and Bears prop had attempted to continue at the Tigers under new coach Ivan Cleary, who wanted to shift him into a pathways role. However, Stringer had become disillusioned with the direction of the club and Taylor's sacking proved the last straw.

"It wasn't the sole reason, but I'm a pretty loyal, trustworthy person and when something like that happens to a mentor [I couldn't stay]," Stringer told Fairfax Media.

"JT was a mentor of mine as a player and he ended up being my coach in my last year of playing. For us to have a relationship and work with him years later was pretty special. I think he's a good coach and he wasn't treated the best.

"It's not all about me, I'm just one person. But, personally, the way I felt when that happened to Jason, I felt the last two or three weeks I was there in body but not in soul. I was going to work and ticking off the boxes, coaching the boys and doing the right thing. But, mentally, I was struggling really bad.

"I had a talk to the family; I was struggling mentally and not sleeping properly. I was thinking I was doing all the wrong things for my personal wellbeing and that of my family's wellbeing.

"I decided to sit down with Ivan, have a chat and tell him where I'm at. I spoke to [head of football] Kelly Egan, we came to an agreement and parted ways on Tuesday."

Before Christmas Stringer felt the Tigers were in the best possible shape. That pre-season was the best he had been involved in, players posting personal bests across a range of performance markers. However, the 40-year-old felt there was a different vibe in the new year amid rumours about Taylor's tenure and the ongoing contract negotiations involving key players Luke Brooks, Mitchell Moses, Aaron Woods and James Tedesco.

"I don't want to go into it too much and bag the place, especially with JT being the one who brought me on board and the way he treated people," Stringer said.

"The respect he had for the players and squad and staff, he would walk into the place and shake everyone's hand every single morning and that's the way I was brought up. There are other people in the organisation that aren't like that, I suppose."

As an inducement for the big four to re-sign, the club attempted to find a staff role for their mentor, Wehbe. Stringer said the involvement of Wehbe and massage therapist Anthony Carbone so close to the beginning of the season was a "distraction". It is understood Wehbe was seeking about $130,000 for a permanent role, although that never eventuated after resistance from some staffers.

"For me personally, that was a big distraction, yes," Stringer said.

"There are certain things in life and rugby league that I believe in: I believe in hard work, ripping in at training and doing plenty of contact, you get used to contact by doing it at training.

"That was mentally hard for me when Jason said Joe was going to come into the club. He wasn't there for long, it was about two or three sessions. I had a chat to Jason about it after that week and let my feelings be known to him and so did all the other coaches. Some of the other coaches liked it, some players liked it, some didn't.

"It was a bit strange that he was coming in two weeks before round one after we'd had a good pre-season and ripped in. But I was part of a coaching team and a squad, so I embraced it – it was 'let's see if this can make us better'.

"Then it didn't eventuate for some reason. And Jason was gone just five weeks after that."

Taylor, during an appearance on the Fox Sports program League Life, said he believed Woods and Tedesco owed it to the Tigers to stay and fulfil their undoubted potential. Stringer agreed with the assessment.

"The club has done everything in their power to keep them there and sometimes you can do too much for people as well," he said.

"I'm a bit old school, a bit treat them mean, keep them keen kind of thing. Sometimes when you lay out the red carpet too much they get too used to it.

"It's a problem in society these days, the younger generation, and I have the same problem with my kids, too. Sometimes you can give them too much, you can give them too much too early without them working too hard for it.

"They owe it to the club to stay."

There are heaps of interesting points in this article. Firstly the Broncos offer to Bird was a huge offer. Interestingly they didn't go after our little Teddy. More interesting is that these massive contracts can have an effect on the rest of the squad. You can't offer too many players massive contracts.

Then we get the normal Tiger news with how unhappy our little Teddy is. I mean the club has done everything possible to keep him happy and it sounds like his mate - Crybaby Moses - was already trying to run the club. I'm not sure who else is involved in that clique that was trying to run the club and let to JT being ousted but our little Teddy could be involved in it as well.

I hope we retain Teddy and Woods but geez these guys have a lot of growing up to do.

Sound of silence
The cringe-worthy moment of last weekend occurred when Mitchell Moses was giving an interview on Fox Sports after the Tigers had pulled off a remarkable upset win against the Cowboys in Townsville.

One of the panel members was his former coach Jason Taylor. It's unclear if Moses was briefed by the network straight after the game, but what was noticeable was the absolute silence from Taylor. He didn't ask Moses a question, while everyone else on the panel did.

It indicates clearly that there is tension between the pair and, as we have pointed out in the past, a fair amount of that stems from the support Moses and others have for "mind coach" Joe Wehbe and Taylor's lack of interest in him.

The Tigers backed Taylor in that area and they've indicated to me that the chances of Wehbe getting a gig either full or part-time as a club employee remain very slim.

Farah enough
Robbie Farah showed considerable class when he faced the media during the week and didn't tear into Jason Taylor. Farah was ready. His "who are they going to blame now?" line was very reasonable. Farah was blamed for every disaster the Tigers have been through, yet long after he is gone the players have taken it to a new level. The contract circus conducted by the players' agent Isaac Moses has been next level.

There is a chance for the club to use Mitchell Moses' request for an early release to their advantage. The club could use $200,000 from his deal to bump up James Tedesco this year as some kind of bonus payment. The problem is, the noises Tedesco has been making indicate a deeply unhappy player.

I emphatically hope we don't retain this 2 brain dead ingrates. If the club had any cahoonas they'd fine the lowlifes for the moronic comments they've both made in recent weeks in bringing the club into disrepute.

Its about time the club got tough with these wankas & the grubby player manager & showed them they r disposable nobodies !!

Cleaning out the shit.
On the bus or not on the bus - its pretty simple.

Exactly..
If you dont like it GO.......woods and Teddy.......this is dragging on way too much.
Ivan will turn it around......
New team in 2018 will makes heaps difference...new captain as well...
Josh Reynolds or Widdop must be signed.....

Also i would keep Moses for the whole of 2017.....Unless they swap us a decent player in exchange.

we nned to stat a year for once WITHOUT controversy

Moses has to stay with us even if it is to play him in reserve grade.

And if we do scrape into contention for the No. 8 spot we could very likely be fighting the Eels for it.....next season always seems more important than this one.

Would be surprised if we beat Parra......They have lost 4 in a row so we love playing teams back into form...its in out DNA Hassler..
To let the pimply faced one leave after Parra game would be stupid.......If he knew he was getting a release after Parras game do you think he would try for us????NO CHANCE

Gotta keep in mind that the lava from the '99 eruption is still cooling....the club wont trully be settled long term untill the old guard from both sides are settled in the nursing home...
