Das - MU isn't a bad guy. He just thinks he knows it all when he doesn't realize when it comes to talking shit about footy it's basically all just opinions.

The only thing that isn't an opinion is that Issac Moses is scum and so is the whole family.

Really....just out of curiosity i went back and had a look at the comments at the time of taylor's hiring ( page 14...Taylor new coach...interesting and funny reading )....your opinion then was "he will be fine...he just needs new assistants"....so it can be sssumed that's the advice you would have given the moronic board?.....you weren't aware he was inexperienced then?...
how come?...you have all the statistics
Enquiring minds would like know
He didn't get new assistants til last year. I also said a lot that I wish they had've appointed Brown or Folkes instead.

Nice sidestep but that's ok...worked for benji....no..your opinion was taylor "will be ok" i.e. fine / thumbs-up / okee dokee....now you write that the board should never ( i assume never as in ..nrver under any circumstances ) have been stupid enough to appoint a rookie coach in a rebuilding phase and finish by saying that his appointment was ( quote) "never going to work out here"...never meaning never...assistants regardless i assume.
No-one of any influence at the club reads this stuff but for the sake of Internet sport....stop moving the goalposts.
BTW.....for the sake of disagreement...Folkes...defensive coach yes x2....head coach..times have moved on....Brown....in an NRL rebuilding phase... ?
You do do the statistic thing well though. ....dirty job no doubt but you seem to enjoy it....a sincere good job with that
Go the Tiges....etc etc....all up from here

hat had been written. We allayed those concerns because he decided to sign. I remember Ivan asked us what success looks like. We said to him, 'finals football is what success looks like'.

"Because even though we're increasingly successful off field, which we're proud about, it's almost meaningless if you don't win games of football. He was left under no illusion that we need to get back into the finals football arena sooner rather than later.""

Of course you are a moron Marina. We all know you only got the job because we had to have a woman on the board. The sooner that you and that clown Pascoe leave the better. Maybe we can beg Longmuir to come back. He was the last smart operator we had at the club.

Ivan Cleary's edict to Wests Tigers before shock win: Be the player your teammates want to play with
Michael Chammas
Published: April 9, 2017 - 7:59PM

"Be the player your teammates want to play with."

Those were the last words the Wests Tigers heard from coach Ivan Cleary before they ran out and produced the upset of the season against the North Queensland Cowboys on Saturday night.

It was obvious to Cleary that massive changes are required to turn around the fortunes of the Wests Tigers, however his decision to hold off on revolutionising the style of football at the club has been described as "genius" by Elijah Taylor.

Whatever the Tigers practised under former coach Jason Taylor, they did it in Cleary's first week at the helm.

The only difference was his ability to get the players to buy into his philosophy regarding the never-say-die mindset he has instilled at his two previous clubs.

"We have talked about the one-percenters in the past but it's something Ivan puts his hats on - those extra efforts off the ball," Taylor said.

"Working for your teammate and being the teammate that other players want to play with. He asked us that last night before we ran out. Be the player that other players want to be inspired by and want to play with. It was so simple. He didn't come in and say do this, do this, tackle like this, attack like this. He did none of that.

"That's genius. Especially when you're in round six and we've done a full pre-season under another coach ... Credit to Ivan - he could have come in and changed everything. He's been watching. He tinkered a few little things - but mainly between the ears and defensive attitude."

While the Tigers weren't pretty, especially throughout an error-riddled second half, they showed the type of fight that hasn't been synonymous with the club in many years.

"He just wanted to alter our defence and our mindset. He laid down some challenges for us last night and I think we met those challenges.

"Off-the-ball efforts, one-percenter efforts. You hear a lot of footballers talk about the one-percenters. He's massive on that. Ninety per cent of the game you're doing things off the ball. Things you don't see on TV but they mean so much. All those little things add up to a victory. It shows his experience."

Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary won't rule out asking Mitchell Moses to backflip on Parramatta Eels deal
Michael Chammas
Published: April 9, 2017 - 9:36PM

Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary has left the door open for the club to keep Mitchell Moses beyond this season, admitting he would consider asking the five-eighth to renege on his deal with the Eels.

Despite Saturday night's shock victory against the Cowboys in Townsville, Cleary won't budge on his decision to make James Tedesco and Aaron Woods his priority signings ahead of Moses.

However, given contracts aren't finalised until a 10-day cooling off period has expired, the club has nearly two weeks to get Moses to renege on his deal with the Eels for 2018 and beyond.

When Fairfax Media asked if he would attempt to get Moses to backflip on his Eels deal should Tedesco and Woods pledge their commitment to the Tigers before Moses' 10-day cooling period expired, Cleary said: "Yeah, possibly".

The coach is adamant Woods and Tedesco remain the focus.

"In terms of the priority and our decision to prioritise, that's not going to change," Cleary said.

"That's all that was, a priority. Mitchell decided he wanted to move on and you know what, that's fine. I understand that. All we ask is the player represents the jersey well for their teammates and for themselves. They all did that, including Mitch."

The Eels and Moses' manager, Isaac Moses, are applying plenty of pressure on the Tigers to release the five-eighth to join Parramatta this year.

The Tigers definitely won't release him and allow him to play against the Tigers for Parramatta on Easter Monday, but there remains a strong possibility he will end up in blue and gold at some point throughout the year.

However that is not Cleary's intention, admitting he wants Moses to stick around to see out his contract at the Tigers.

"I haven't contemplated letting him go," Cleary said.

"I'm still absorbing what has happened. He's part of the team. Essentially these things often get sorted out by the players themselves. I saw what you saw tonight. We'll see what happens.

"Mitch prepared for the game really well and always looked focused to me. Obviously I don't know him really well but he certainly wasn't showing any signs of being disengaged or anything like that. His performance showed that. He was one of 17 guys that went out there and did their best and were accountable for their own performances. And full marks to them."

One of the advantages for Isaac Moses in his bid to get the five-eighth across to Parramatta this season is that he will then have more money to work with in regards to Tedesco and Woods.

Moses' departure would see the Tigers free up space in this year's salary cap and dedicate additional funds to Tedesco and Woods.

It remains unclear whether the skipper and superstar fullback will remain in Tiger town, but Cleary is desperate to get a picture of what the future looks like at the joint venture.

"We want to get it sorted sooner rather than later," Cleary said. "We've stated that we want them to stay. It's over to them now. It'd be nice if they stayed, it would be fantastic."

Woods, who was quite emotional after the victory against the Cowboys, said the motivation behind the win was a pursuit to rediscover the love for the sport.

"You get a new coach in with a few new ideas - it's always good to hear a new voice," Woods said.

"Before we ran out we said: why do we play rugby league? We just said: because we love it and it's so much fun. When you finish a game as a kid, you want to play another game. That's what I said to the boys - let's just have fun like we did when we were kids."

For a guy that started out with a no comment Farah went on to say plenty.

The final quote is very interesting:

"I got involved three years ago with the whole Teddy thing at Canberra. I got involved then as the captain of the club, and I thought it was my job as the captain of the club to do my utmost to keep him there because I knew how important he was for the club. And he has been. That's been justified keeping him there. But now I'm not there. I'm not the captain of the club. It's Woodsy's job to keep him there."

The perception at the moment is that the "Manager" has the short skirt on Tedesco to try and get every cent for Woods as a package deal. Looking at Woods demeanor, Instead of being a leader among men and the rock the Wests Tigers need in a bad time, he appears the guy who you have to take if you want Teddy.

I believe Woods is an outstanding "modern" front rower and if you watch him in defense you will see the extra efforts, but he is simply not worth the dollars even if it means you get Tedesco.

I hope they re-sign, but if they are going to go , I want them to sign somewhere else today and end this circus.

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...rospective-rival-coaches-20170412-gvjrzv.html

This article is hilarious. The players are probably leaving and Wehbe is a guy that talks to lots of footy players and helps them out in life. He is also aligned with good old Issac Moses.

The more I read this stuff the more I want these guys to leave. Admittedly it's just a media article with no facts at all but the way rugby league is going it's makes you realise that any player can be had for more dollars and a bunch of bullshit.

What sort of a tosser has or needs a life coach.

I could invest money better than these idiots like Issac Moses/Joe Wehbe because I can read the Internet. It's not even freaken hard. Warren Buffet dolls out advice for free all the freaken time.

Wasn't it only a couple days ago he was saying "how honoured he would be to stay at the club" and "I really want to re-sign with the club"

This club is an absolute f**king lottery. Just shut the f**k up and stop feeding the media bullshit

It's a f**ken joke isn't it. These guys care about one thing only - money. All the bullshit they talk about pisses me off even more. They should just shut their mouths.

Every player manager is trying to get $1 extra and the players will leave for that extra $1.

They have about a 15 year lifespan in the sport (if they are lucky) and its their job.

Yeah - money is important to them.

Managers driving up their prices - media looking for a story.

I get what your saying, they should just say nothing. Do our boys get media training? I know players at a lot of other clubs do.

I don't buy this line at all. Our guys make it only about money and the amount you earn is only one small part in relation to how well you do with money over the course of your life or your playing career.

We are offering them great money. If they simply save their money and invest it into an index fund and maybe their own house they can probably not work again at the end of their careers. The extra money isn't going to make a huge difference.

I'm at the stage now where I don't give a shit what other people earn because I've done exactly the same thing that these muppets could do but they will earn a shit load more than me doing what they love.

Money is important to everyone but earning every last little cent is far from the only thing that is relevant to doing well financially.
