If a negative pattern is emerging in any team no matter what the sport it needs to be corrected.

Tubby Taylor was banished as captain of One dayers whilst Test captain due to losses.
Replaced by Tugger who was in turn replaced by Punter when he was test captain.
punter is winning both forms so is captain for both.

For us there is a pattern of losing close games -WHEN WE ARE LEADING WITH 10 MINS TO GO - which needs to be corrected.

There is obviously a fault because something ain't working.
Whose fault is it?
Hard to say - and not one man, but...
Well, captain is a good place to start for this one.

Why?
Because it is a mental problem ("we're gonna get run down")
And a motivational problem.

Comparing a cricket captain and league captain is absurd.

A cricket captain determines tactics, field positions, bowler and batsman rotation, when to declare, when not to declare, etc etc.

A league captain decides which way to kick off and when to take the 2, take the tap. pretty much it.

Come on Cheese, I prefer Dykes over Kimmorley, but even I admit I was pretty fuggen entertained by the footy we dished up against one of the competition heavyweights with No Dykes in sight.
