For playmaking ability I rate Widdop 0.1 out of 10. If he were 115kg and tough he would be a great prop but he isn't so 0.1 out of 10. McCrone is 1 out of 10. At least he can tackle.

I think there are some people on here who get way too personal in their attacks on fellow supporters who simply express a different opinion. It's a little sad, really.

Vas deserves to be treated with some dignity and respect.

Straight Shooter
I know I was being sarcastic in this thread, but you have shown yourself to be much better at sarcasm than I am.

Well played sir, this post is comedy genius.

I was wondering what this character, "Vasilevsky" or "Vas" or "Vasoline" as the trippy old dude likes to say (yes, I find it a little creepy as well) did that has some posters here so infatuated and look what I found! Who do you think was right?

'Hi my name is "Glenn01".

I don't know who vasilevsky is, but I write very similarly to him, pick fights with the same forum members, and agree with everything he says."

Seems legit.

Yeah I rate Gareth & would be even better with a real half back and proper coach.
interesting. One has to wonder what game these people are discussing. They most certainly know next to nothing about RL unless they have an ulterior motive for putting Widdop above the well-being of the team.

I will help you but too long to argue

6
6.5

6.5
5
Agree
8
7.5..well he is kicking at around 75-80%
8
9
7
7 on first 3 rounds

You missed 2 important ones
1. ..effort upon effort and not giving up on chasing a line break I rate him 10
2...Best player we have by far in our squad as a NRL player rate him 7.5-8

No time to argue or back up by score sheet. My opinion without a un-biast agenda, black glasses or just some inner hate for someone that a slight majority agree with and eating away at your soul. Shame really

Let me know when you ready to do Benji's of similar score sheet and I have will have my say then.
"best player we have in our squad......" (Slowly takes glasses off while shaking head)

I remember Vas was a pretty big Benji fan.

Agree Widdop is rubbish, but what does that make Benji seeing he was the one that got walked?

I stated this on another thread when the trippy old dude was repeatedly on my case about it.

IMO the way Mitchell Moses tore us to shreds late last season (when Benjii was playing) shows either Benji has lost too much or the game has moved on too much from when he was a star. But, there are three caveats to this.
1. Anyone not totally incompetent (ruling out our coaching staff) would take Redcliff's 150k a year 5/8, Benji Marshall over out 650k+ a year 5/8 and captain in the blink of an eye.
2. Any supporter with any more than the most basic understanding of the game and whose only motive is wanting STI to win would take Redcliff's 150k a year 5/8, Benji Marshall over out 650k+ a year 5/8 and captain in the blink of an eye.
3. I'm interested (and am confident in the success of) in seeing how every individual in the team goes without Widdop consistently f**king everyone up in attack and being the weakest link in defence. That would have also gone for Marshall and Rein last year.

benji is Past his best
Gareth has been bad , was going well early in 2015 only
Interesting to see if he resigns with us .With Ben Hunt might be better
We have never had a decent halfback for a long while

Let's see how Widdop goes with a decent coach... the game plan is to blame for widdops poor form. Whenever he gets the ball there are no players in motion (running at holes or even moving forward) wtf is he supposed to do apart from run sideways and look for a player who actually wants the ball. f**k me dead some people let their emotions take over when it comes to certain players. E.g. Hate for Widdop and Love for Dufty who has not done once thing to justify the massive wraps on him.

i.e. You want to see if Ben Hunt is good enough to carry Widdop. Image a team that didn't have to carry it's captain and second highest paid player. Wouldn't that be a sight!
At Melbourne Widdop was never anything more than a minimum wage foil for the stars playing inside, outside and behind him. It isn't his fault. He was offered 10times the salary without any performance clauses. Of course he should have taken it. It's nothing personal. But he will get his payday even if he is in the Cutters and no other NRL club will pick him up so send him back to the Cutters and get it over with and then start rebuilding a team to be reckoned with.

Dufty starred in the U20s and hasn't been on big money while doing nothing but screwing up the rest of the team for 3 years like Widdop has. How is that for a start?

1. Money has got nothing to do with it, the club signed Widdop, he didn't choose what the club was going to pay him. It all comes down to the game plan as to why he is struggling.

2. Just because someone is good in the under 20s does not make them the best thing since sliced bread. Evander Cummings was the exact same player as him, probably better and look how his career went. I hope Dufty makes it but the expectation people are placing on an untried player is unbelievable.

Your reply justifies my statement where people let their emotions cloud their judgment

Gareth also played that game and was theoretically marking Moses.
