You need to add 'Dream' to the start of your name and 'er' to the end Crush ;)

Too much dreaming on this forum lately and not enough realism...
Thats clever Brissy. Dream crusher.
Mate, I think everyone is entitled to their dreams. Possm thinks that their is a savior coach secretly in waiting ready to take a backline of dufty, field, milne, bird, hunt to a premiership. And I am still thinking that mary can take us to the top 4.
I think perhaps both of us are dreaming.....
Not sure which is more likely.

I never picked you as an optimist...

I guess deep down, all of us are at least a little optimistic about our chances any given year and we all want the club to be successful. Everyone has opinions on the best way to achieve success and the corrections required, some of which, posters are so keen on they will it to be already done and share it continuously throughout the forum.

And we need to announce the new coach now right? Was it des or madge or cleary? I can't keep up. Isn't that why hunt signed? Because there was a new coach already signed?
Bird, Des.......dreaming.........
Anyway, nice to dream possm

He is the top competition point scorer at the moment with 38 points.
3 tries
13/15 goals
2 try assists
2 linebreaks
2 linebreak assists

Not bad for 3 games of footy. Plus he will be recovering from a near career crippling game plan that was in place for the last 2 years. Give him about another month and he should be golden.

Widdop is playing better than he has for a couple of years, the big difference is he looks like he is trying. Cynically you could wonder whether its because there is contract talks going on.

The bottom line is he is an improvement on what he has been but I hope we have a genuine upgrade for him. Widdop is the player to be directed not the one to be doing the directing.

If we loose Widdop we also lose a goalkicker. Give him another contract on the same money along with Dugan.
I doubt whether Dufty and Field will be ready this year as they have to contend with monster Polynesian backlines like
Canberra, Parramatta and Melbourne.

Bring The Noise while I agree on his average goal kicking ability who would you choose as a goalkicker if Widdop left. Would you bring Nona on and off?

I would bet my last dollar Dugan or Mann (assuming we keep them) could equal or better Widdop's efforts on the goal kicking front.

Both Dugan and Widdop are asking for much more salary than what the Dragons have offered. If we can get Dugan to stay on less than his asking price and let Widdop go, we would need to sign a five-eighth.

There are those who would say use Hutch, Field or Dufty at 6. I'd say buy a top level five-eighth to pair with Hunt and bring our young juniors to first grade through reserve grade and onto the bench.

Some other backline decisions still need to be made and those decisions need to be made in consideration of the salary cap and the skil of the players concerned.
