Cause of the BS Contract at the start of the year that they would call the 2pm games and Triple M calls the 3pm games.

Unfortunately we have to put up with Raaaaayyyyy on Ch 9.

Out of interest what station was the call on today? I went through the fm stations while driving on the central coast and couldn't find it. Normally kofm or one of the coast stations has it

They said on Triple M you could get it on KO FM. They were still calling the game but Triple M Sydney listeners would get the AFL.

The only station in Sydney wouldve been ABC with Brad Cook calling the game.

I turned off the sound today and played some games on the PC while watching.

Cannot f**king stand Hadley the merkin. Kinda good that Dragons games are mostly on Foxtel this year.

I couldn't watch either. Can't stand the bloke. I watched 5 mins, found out Hadley was calling then turned it off. I listened to the rest of the triple m call.

My kids were making a hell of a noise while I was trying to watch yesterday's game. I was going to tell them to be quiet, but then I realised they were far less annoying than Hadley.

The Voss Hadley fallout has been a long time coming. They have history. Hadley saw Voss as his protege at 2ue. Voss was ambitious and Bolts saw it as betrayal. They were once very close mates. Hadley saw him as a little brother.

So Hadley wanted Voss to work at 2UE all his life did he?

usually the way with big egos - they believe that their underlings & proteges should remain under them until they retire - even if it's 30 years or more.

the flipside of course is the white ant type such as graeme hughes who knifed absolutely everyone above him to get the commentary gig a only a couple of years after starting.

He didnt have much competition though did he? I mean Rex was towards the end of his career, and like Rabs, made alot of mistakes.
Ian Maurice was not a great caller.
Bill Anderson was more a sideline commentator

Who else was there?

mossop was on a different channel.

anderson was the co-commentator to warren.

warren was the number 1 commentator & 3 hundred times better back then than he is today.

hughes knifed both which led to warren being rissoled altogether. his behind the scenes soapfest was a continuation of his bull-crap at canterbury.

it was hilarious when warren ryan tore him a new one on his own sunday show & brought up the type of backstabbing, disloyal & self obsessed turd he was as a player & person, because he tried to get ryan removed from the panel beforehand in secret.

every interview with ryan when he was the canterbury coach was hilarious because wok would barely give the prick the time of day.

hughes is a dog. i couldn't stand his commentary because he was a try-hard - the result of too many people telling him his sh*t didn't stink.

Similar thing happened between Warren Smith and Hadley when Smith left 2UE to join Fox Sports.

the problem is he still calls games for tv like he's calling it for radio

This is true, but he knows the players names, knows the game and doesn't show bias.

Of course he's a prick, but I think he's a reasonable caller.

But then I thought Ian Maurice was a pretty good caller too.

I thought the fallout began when Hadley told Voss he could never be a main commentator a la Rabs or Hadley but he was a good back up.
