Hey, guys.

Was anyone else a bit annoyed at the video ref jumping in - totally unprompted - to adjudicate on the drop-out in the first half, which was overturned, because it was ruled that Blake knocked it on?

The video ref hardly ever checks play unprompted, but, lo and behold, there he was to make that [correct] call...

Either jump in every time there is a 50/50 call, or only when called upon, imo - they can't just pick and choose when to do it.

Sorry ele, the video ref very often intervenes on that sort of thing. See it very often a ruling is changed from drop out to 20m restart

I actually spoke to a video ref last year at an industry function i was at and asked him specifically about that. How come sometimes they tip the ref and a decision is overturned unprompted?
He said to me that is not the case and the video ref does not get involved unless asked to do so.
I won't name the bloke but its clear that they don't even know the protocols. It is concerning

Unfortunately the ref asked them to look at it. If Blake did touch it it wasn't obvious. If it was sent up as a goal line drop out I didn't think there was enough evidence to overturn the decision.

Ah, cool - I didn't know the ref asked for that to be looked at.

Yeah, I agree - I don't think there was enough conclusive evidence to overturn the ref's initial call...

What if all our games were in Queensland.

I’m not so sure why some aren’t admitting playing at BW is in our favour.

Tigers fans were blowing up deluxe last year when they choose BW as their home ground against the eels.
And last year there were crowds at games.

And how lucky are those Panthers to have such an easy draw for the remainder of the season.
They only play one top 4 team (us) and only leave Sydney 3 more times (+1 game on the Central Coast).
Not happy, though don’t deal with pressure well, so maybe a blessing?

Did Jai Field even get tackled with the ball last night? The only thing he supposedly offers is a running game. He did a few sideways runs before passing and I think he may have engaged the line once with an offload. What a cat.

I heard 2 things today 1) Mahoney almost didn't play as he is injured and 2) Matterson refused to play with his thumb.

The Tigers will be interesting as the Tigers are so hot and cold. Looks like NBrown is out but Niukore has been phenomenal this year so we should be ok there.

Hopefully the COVID numbers remain relatively under control so i can go to the game :)

8 runs 57m 5 TB, not to bad for a rookie half ......

probably a bigger issue is he only made 3 kicks .....

Last year in round 17, the Roosters lost a game to the lowly North Queensland Cowboys. Score was 15-12.

The Roosters weren’t missing players out injured. They were pretty much full strength.

Good teams have off nights. This was one of ours. If we can get back up and have a good win next week and carry on from there this week will be a distant memory. If we have another shocker again next week, that’s when we can begin to worry.

We had a shit night at the office it happens.

Media has banged on about how good Manly were, but we made them look like world beaters especially in the opening 20.

All things being considered if we hadn’t of shit the bed with 60secs to go in the first half we probably still win the game.

We looked nervous to move the ball because we could barely complete a set early. Generally though we still dominated for large portions of the game, RCG and Marata were both enormous.

I actually prefer not to be on top of the ladder, let Penrith deal with the expectation for a few weeks see how they handle it.

All that is important is how we respond against the Tigers, the boys should be frothing to get back out there and rip in. The exciting thing about this team is we haven’t put an 80 minute performance in yet, I’d love for it to come Thursday night.
