And Kelly is answer. No Doubt in my mind he will be picked there.

Lussik-allgood- there Mossop-MoiMoi-Edwards-Tanginoa & B.Smith all floating in reserves that will do a decent job and fill in if need be.

Id be bringing Kenny in for Terepo at lock.AndSmith or tanginoa for defense.

Looking at my forward pack you would have to say it would be quite good defensively.
Terepo doesn't do enough upfront to make up for his bad defense and hands.PauliPauli needs a rocket up his A$$.Gee he is lazy

Pauli has scored in his past two games.

Still, that's a decent defensive side and I don't mind the way Gower can find the hole behind the play the ball. Mau and Kenny add a bit of attack to the starting side.

To be honest, I'm not overly impressed with any of the kids so far this year. They may have potential but none has really been consistently good so if we didn't include any of them I wouldn't be too upset.

I hate to say it but that's probably the best side we could put on the field against the Cowboys.

I would only consider B.Smiths spot for Tanginoa or Pauli but neither defend as well.
Still that's a safe team and atleast we know what we are going to get from Smith(nothing in attack but plenty in defense) When lussick is back(any news) he comes in for MoiMoi

I don't think Ben Smith is as good defensively as you are making out hindy111.

The last year or 2 for mine he has been shown up to be very slow, the roosters game earlier this year, he just couldn't keep up.

A back row of:
11. Ma'u
12. Gower
13. Edwards

Is the better way to go for mine

Yeah I don't mind that with Tanginoa taking his spot or Pauli? On bench.
People on here have to admit Pauli shows skill but is lazy.

Who watched Bryce Cartwright? He looks very talented

Or you Do what Gould did.Th DUke of Penrith.
Rome wasn't built in a year, But gould has rebuilt this powerhouse a lot quicker than we have. They are 3 yrs into there 5 yr plan. We are 4.
Thought the guys out in Penrith where dumb bogans

Neither Gould nor Cleary are from Penrith.

But agreed they rebuilt quickly. The reason was they were prepared to let go of their best players. Look at them now.

On the other hand we keep re-signing ours on massive overs, terrified of backlash from the fans.

"Parramatta are facing a hooking crisis after confirmation Nathan Peats is out for the season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

The news is a bitter blow for the Eels with Peats, who was recruited from South Sydney at the start of the year, one of the key players in the side's resurgence under coach Brad Arthur.

With Matt Keating, Casey McGuire and Anthony Mitchell offloaded by the club in recent years, there's an alarming lack of depth in the position with unproven youngster Kaysa Pritchard, who is Peats' understudy, struggling with a shoulder injury.

Former starting halfback Luke Kelly is the early favourite to fill the role with Kenny Edwards and Joseph Paulo in contention, but Arthur admits it's not an ideal situation with none of the trio specialist No.9s.

The coach is loathe to move Paulo from the lock spot, and Edwards struggled when he faced the Sydney Roosters in round two filling in for Peats as the Eels went down 56-4.

"Young Kays is injured so I don't know what we're going to do," Arthur said.

"He's got to have a cortisone so he could be gone for about two weeks, but he's not responding to treatment at the moment.

"It was an area we were concerned about as we are pretty well covered for injuries everywhere else."

The Eels are also struggling with their top-tier salary cap which is reportedly $80,000 over, making it difficult to sign a ready-made replacement from a rival club with the NRL unlikely to grant the club any leeway.

Peats' worst fears were confirmed on Sunday, two days after he sustained the injury in the defeat to Penrith, and Arthur admitted it left a big hole in his side.

"He was playing well and is going to be missed; it's hard for him," he said.

"He's a competitor and he was getting some form on the board and being mentioned for Origin."

Arthur watched Kelly play for Wentworthville against Wests Tigers on Sunday in the NSW Cup and ordered coach Brett Cook to move him to hooker in the second half to give him some experience in the role.

Former Roosters and North Queensland utility Ben Jones is also on the Magpies' books and is another option Arthur could explore as well.

"Luke is an option ... but, to be honest, I have no idea - my young fella could get a game!" Arthur said.

"We've had quite a few options thrown at us, but we haven't had a chance to sift through and work them out as we've been doing reviews and organising training."

So, Peats is out for the year, and Kaysa Pritchard isn't currently fit, which means we need a long-term option - none of this faffing about with make-do options like we might if it was only a game or two, given the apparent cap issues (or like we did earlier in the year).

Sounds like Kelly will be it, but surely with someone else to relieve him for part of the game. Given that Seph at hooker failed, maybe Norman to hooker and Seph to 5/8 (or whatever bloody thing Pou wants to call it) while Kelly has a spell? That's assuming we don't want a(nother) dedicated utility on the bench.

What's Kelly's defence in the middle going to be like?
Will we need another tackling machine in there to help him... cue Ben Smith.

Kelly isn't Peats defensively, but of all the options we have played in the halves over the last 2-3 seasons he has probably been the best defensively.

I really cannot see us having any option than playing Kelly in the 9. I think having Kelly in the 9 could maintain our organisation abilities that Peats has been a part of.

Sterlo said on MMM last night that BA recognised very early on that we didn't have a NRL hooker in the club if Peats snaps something. It was for this reason that he enquired about Lance Hohia (sp) from ESL, but it fell through.

Allgood accepted a guilty plea. I think that means he gets 2 games.

Kelly will be selected at 9. Personally I'd prefer Jones but given our second tier cap and the fact he's contracted with Wentworthville it may prove difficult.
