Having rewatched it I stand by my initial comment; he had a poor game yesterday. He didn’t get the ball and part of that was a lack of urgency in his part.

That doesn’t mean that I think he is sh!t, or he has to move one to be successful or even that Ivan doesn’t know how to use it. I just think that a 21 year old prop forward didn’t have his best game.

And for what it is worth, I very rarely quote stats apart from the Ws and Ls; individual stats are generally meaningless if a player is doing their job.
Agree. Didn’t even notice him tbh

He hasn't even played 100 games yet.

So still has plenty of improvement. Playing both sides will evolve the team

Doesn't matter I think we're arguing about Leniu now.

No way he's ever better than Haas. The guy is just a freak in the best way possible. Spencer can be great though just needs time and maybe play some longer minutes here and there.

Leinu is one guy who probably needed more time in lower grades

So Dally M votes have gone dark. Who'd everyone have on Friday night?

I know Api got MotM on Channel 9 - and agree he was good (but not great), and I've seen people talking up O'Sullivan for his 3 try assists, but for all the good things our halves did, we lacked a bit of direction for most of the match.

Fisher-Harris would be my pick for 3 points, Kikau 2, and Burton for 1.

SOS was good but there were multiple times when Edwards had wrapped around him and created a two man overlap only for SOS to dummy and go himself.

Hard to argue with your 3,2,1.

Fish Should of got 3 points

SOS comment could apply to Burton. Given we had no ball compared to them

He is a Fringe guy after all but made 27 tackles 2 missed to go with the try assists

Bulldogs did well to force both SOS and Falls to make plenty of tackles.

Luai and Cleary are averaging 14 and 16 tackles per game this season.
Falls and SOS made 32 and 27 tackles Friday night.

That extra workload would have sucked up plenty of juice, and impacted their offensive output too.

Also, Smith and Salmon combined made 42 tackles on that right edge. Martin averages 30 tackles.
While all our tries came down that edge, 2 were from kicks and almost indefensible. Pretty good effort for a patchwork defensive unit.

Which is what makes it hard to get a read on Burton's game

If we had 90% completion and 57% of the ball and only had 2 tries from kicks. Would we say our halves played well?

On its own 2 try assists and a try is good and likely gets a point or 2

NSW cup defence is better than NRL as far as points per game goes. That wasn't a doubt for me the attack on the right though

SOS just needs to finish sets better. There was a few times he got the ball on last and he didnt come up with a good option particularly at the start of the second half, we had good field position a couple times and he had poor options which led to a swing in momentum. Certainly dont expect miracles from a back up half back but if he wants to be a starter somewhere someday he will have to be better in that area. On his grubbers get them through the line and into the in goal more consistently and on his bombs from further out land them 5-10 metres from the tryline more often rather than 10-15 metres out.
