But will he ever get back into first grade.

Wow what a change this side took.
We went from having Soward and Wallace in the halves and Segyaro as Hooker.
And Moylan as fullback.

And this was the ultimate spine. And this would never happen again.

Change for most of the part, can sometimes,or never be for the better.Even the best of judges never can tell how things turn out.And in the essence, that is sport in a nutshell.

There's been other defensive liabilities thrive at 5/8

Moylan's hand skills are easily good enough to make him one of the better halves running around. No guarantees of course , the defensive work rate could shatter his confidence. But if he doesn't at least get a shot it's a crying shame.

I have very little doubt he can make a decent half for me it's whether he can be s good origin and international level half or atleast near that level but I think he would atleast be decent there. It looked like something might happen every time he got into first or second receiver last night.

I might be a bit sick but i love the Moylan doubts creeping in here. Not only will he move to 5/8 but he will dominate

The other thing to remember is that Moylan has been playing in a half baked team for a while now. Even when we were inches from the GF, it was mostly just some honest guys around a Soward/Seg/Moylan masterclass. With Cleary and maybe Martin, Cartwright maturing into the world class player we hoped he'd be and a side stacked with internationals, Moylan won't have to do it all. There's no one in the game better at icing a backline play and he will have all the options around him. I don't think he's a Darren Lockyer that can just do it all but if we let him play to his strengths in a highly functioning team he will carve out a very dominant niche.

Well said. It is also the same for Cartwright. I have found myself at times saying "give the ball to Cartwright" and expecting him to create a miracle play, mainly because Sowie and Wallace aren't overly creative. Then I pause, take a breath, and realise that her is still a rookie coming back from a horrific leg injury, a busted thumb and is is still growing. In short, it is unreasonable to expect a single player to save us, especially a rookie and especially when he isn't surrounded by enough good players.

On Friday night, he was part of the backline play that led to Moylan passing for a try in the corner. I think it went Cartwright, Cleary, Moylan. Finally we had an opposition defence that hesitated for a few seconds because each of those players could do something with the ball, including running with it.

So now things are starting to change. QLD are brilliant because they have three to four players who are creative, JT, Smith, Cronk and Boyd/Slater. Penrith 2003 had Gower, Girdler, Priddis and Campbell. Now it looks like we are not too far of having Moylan, Cartwright, Cleary and TMM. It is much harder to shut down several creative players than just making sure Moylan and Cartwright are covered and reduces stress on all of them.

Big danger game next week against the Tigers. Need to respect them more than we did the Titans. Can see us getting rolled if we don't watch out.

Certainly is. We've got to win these games and win well.

The top 8 is becoming crowded and were in real danger of falling away.

Theres no way in hell Peachey should play 6 imo.

why short term he's an option? TMM will be back any week now. After a few weeks in NSW Cup he will be right to come in. Moylan not at fullback would stunt us too much in attack and question marks over his defence. Not the move you make when you are pushing for Top 4.

When finals are no longer a possibly or to start next year then we should move Moylan

Peachey in the 6 stunts our attack much more than not having Moylan at FB, he isn't a half mate, he barely passes enough to play centre and he isn't an organiser or director of play or anything like that and before you say "cleary can organise" No, both halves need to be able to do that to a certain degree, one can be more dominant but they both need to be able to call plays and direct traffic around them, that is not Peacheys game the guy barely knows where he is heading himself half the time. I like Peachey a lot as a player but he isnt even a short term option imo.

If they aren't going to put Moylan there leave Bryce there until TMM is fit. There are no reasons for Peachey in the 6 over Bryce. Moving Bryce to lock is hardly going to fix our weak middle defence is it? Why wouldn't you put Yeo at 13 and Bryce on the edge and tell them to swap in attack so Bryce isnt pinned to one edge? You would be hurting both our defence and attack by moving Bryce to 13 and Peachey to 6 imo. If Bryce is being moved there to accommodate Moylan in the halves I can live with it but not for Peachey, no way.

The issue I have is our attack is just coming along nicely. Moving Moylan from a roaming role to being either only left or right will take us back to we were before Moylan was fit early in the season. I think Cartwright needs the freedom or roaming too.

It's a good dilema to have

We should forget about Soward imo unless injuries hit us. Bryce has been far more effective the last two weeks than Sowie has been this year and when we weren't dropping the ball our attack has looked much better with Cleary and Cartwright, much better. And defensively Bryce isn't great but he is better than Sowie and Cleary is a huge improvement defensively on Soward already.

Sowie has made 157 tackles this season and missed 43. Cleary is 3 games has already made 77 tackles and missed only 9. So already at 18 he is working much harder defensively and is much more effective as well.

Whats the point of weakening an already struggling defensive line for Soward when he wont run the ball and is 5th and 8th for try assists and linebreak assists in our squad. Isaah Yeo has created more linebreaks than Sowie this year, he offers f**k all but a kicking game.
