Im not suggesting we almost won just using it to make a point. To me 2020 wasnt a season that we peaked to early we just didnt turn up on GF night. We killed teams right up until the last round, started that way against the roosters and had a tough prelim win to get into the GF.

Because of inexperience

Last year we failed the Origin period

Do we come back if it doesn't get to 13 on 11? To'o's try wasn't a try before that

So lets not try to re-write history here.
We have been far from our best the last 2 post seasons.

Through various reasons. This year we can show we learn't from them

I am not re-writing history at all. It went from 22-nil to 26-20. That is close to blowing a big leading no matter what the cause of our tries was. Making out that we hit some wall in 2020 is absolutely re-writing history IMO. We were flying then played terribly in the GF which was nothing to do with being tired or origin. We werent bad against the roosters, we got up a big lead and then switched off for 15 minutes. We werent bad against the bunnies, its a prelim they are going to be tough games most of the time.

How is it blowing a lead if you have less players on the field?
As for the Souffs prelim. We had more errors conceded more penalties. Defence saved us as it did last year

rest everyone now - hopefully we win Finals week 1 and get another week off in Finals week 2

team's been named - looking forward to going to the game and supporting the boys :)

Wish I could still go to games but weekend hours makes it impossible. Just got a pay rise as well so membership is affordable as well. 😭

Will we drop a place if we lose?

Will we run the same 17 v Sharks as we do this week?

We have half a starting team to come back in. So nope regardless of x player scoring plenty of tries or dropping several passes. There are a stack of changes next week.

So no the result means very little across the course of the season
If we get some injuries and/or drop a few games then that could make this result important. It's no use saying that we lost this game last year and still won. That was last year, doesn't mean it will happen again. Similar to saying we won in 91 therefore...

Do injuries count since they are a variable outside the control of anyone? Even so resting players now and taking an L would still be more desirable than playing them at 100% and risking over working and putting a finals run at risk.

Why does anyone care if we lose with our reserve grade side? I don't get it.

A loss won't change anything for us. We still have a 2 game lead on minor premiership and a huge f/a advantage

There's nothing at stake for us. We get to freshen 7 of our best players up to focus on going back to back.

The only part of a loss that bothers me is Tigers will get 2 points and I think it would be hilarious to see them get the spoon. But even still. Losing to them last year didnt hurt us. Maybe our reserve grade side losing to Tigers is good luck

Beating us is their grand final win. Our grand final win is winning the grand final.

Honestly losing kills me normally. But if it happens this week im fine with it.

Assuming we beat the 2 bottom 8 teams we play in the run home. That puts us on 36 points.

8th place can't catch us

Everyone else chasing plays each other so will drop games too.
Sharks are the danger but us with rep guys rested we beat them.

You can add them to the list of teams that can't catch us. So even if we drop a couple we very likely still run 1st. Certainly stay top 4.

Getting us close to 100% come finals is the aim

You nailed it.

Atleast it is for a trophy now this game. For the tigers fans to lose their minds winning

I think I’ve conditioned myself for a potential loss this Sunday. But our team on paper, despite resting the Origin 7, still looks bloody impressive.

Everyone listed is playing their rightful position, unlike last year (Tyrone at 7 - What the absolute f**k???). So I’m more confident of a win this time than last year’s corresponding game.

I’m with you MX. Seeing the Tigers “win” the spoon will be bloody funny. And well deserved I might add, given the bull💩 their fans dished out last year.

I put $50 on them getting the spoon pre season. I got $8 for them...So I am all for their losses

I'm not arguing against resting the SOO players. I'm arguing against the statement that this game doesn't matter. We don't know that yet as the variables can happen.

Fair. I think most people just don't consider injuries.
