The result is obviously disappointing, but there was a fair bit to like out there. They hung in the game even if it was pretty clear with a quarter to go that it was going to be an uphill battle.

Gutherson is just immense, how he continues to defuse attacking raid after attacking raid is beyond me. And Brown seems to be running the attack even more than Moses - not sure if that’s a result of being concerned that Moses might’ve re-aggravated things tonight so it was thought Dylan should take charge? Paulo looks very good, Matterson is still class, and RCG looks fit and tough. Pity about the early loss of Bailey because that edge being f**ked made things very difficult.

Strange game.

Even though we led at half time it always seemed like the Panthers had the match in control.

We looked vulnerable everytime the Panthers had the ball. If the bounce of the ball goes the Panthers way a few times I think they likely put that game away alot earlier.

I don't think either team played their best, but the Panthers just did that little bit better when it mattered. We certainly had our chances, but couldn't deliver. Injuries certainly didn't help our cause tonight that's for sure.

Hopefully we learned a bit and got something out of it. We live to fight another day at least.
We looked vulnerable because our dumb, deaf and blind coach somehow didn't notice that all they had to do was spread the ball to their right hand side and they would rip us open. Brad Arthur is an absolute fraud of a coach and any other club would have sacked him eight years ago.

Don’t be fooled by the scoreline. This game wasn’t close. We were very lucky Penrith only completed at 68%. We completed at 84% yet still got monstered in the middle. If Penrith had a higher completion rate and didn’t bomb so many tries this would have been a flogging. I’m very disappointed in the coaching staff with our defensive structures. We still continue to give up so many metres when the opposition has the ball in hand and there’s no excuse for having such a lopsided territorial disadvantage with our forward pack. Here’s hoping the coach figures it out sooner rather than later.
The territorial disadvantage had nothing to do with our forwards. They set up each time for a wide shift kelmas side. Either made a half break or line break, quick play the ball and then had us back pedalling.
The loss of simonsson was the biggest moment of the game

Good effort by the lads, shame about the coaching tonight. Some of Bea's most inept coaching in a long time. Something you would expect from a rookie coach not an 11 year veteran. He decided to keep a fat fringe first grader second rower in the centres and then waited till 3 mins to go to give Hands a run. Lussick was blowing after about 30mins in. Harper is a putrid footballer lol @ anyone who thought he was some smart buy. We replaced Waqa with another useless penis.

Yes I can't be too disappointed with that loss it hurts losing to Penrith but they really hung in there and played the intense football against the top side, despite that reshuffle with Bailey getting the HIA. Still baffles me why Luai wasn't binned, twice. The bunker should be blown up.

In defence yes but we still struggled to make yardage with ball in hand.

Strange comment, what’s happened to say that. You don’t like him for some resaon
Did you watch our left edge tonight??? And even after we got shredded for 40 whole mins he was happy not to change a thing. We all know why you love him Rhino boy.

Tough game didnt have much go our way our D is a worry.

Probably the best quality standard overall match so far in the 2 weeks. No shame in losing that considering the calls we didnt get.

Not using Hands until the 77th min is a waste. Considering we basically played with 15 tonight with Simmonson gone after 2 mins.

BA needs to grow a set and fire a shot at the officials over some calls tonight. He has held himself back for 11 years may as well let rip its Round 2.

The likes of Bellamy, Cleary, Robinson and Stuart wouldn't have copped some of the calls we did without a cheap shot to the NRL in the presser.
Overall, they were better than us all across the park. We are made to look quite inept by the better sides. Even at this early stage we look like the Eels from any other recent year.
