Reckon it should be a penalty:

“A player who is in front of the kicker in general play who intentionally advances beyond the point of the previous play the ball before the ball has gone past him”

Yeo is stationary after the play the ball. Then only moves when Cleary comes back across, to his side. He then “intentionally” advances beyond the point of play the ball. He had the choice to move back rather then forward.

There are plenty of bad players in the top 30 at clubs and Lumelume isn’t even top 30.

Limelume played for the Storm ffs. He played six NRL games in two years over there, including a finals match. At Parra he’s played only two games in just over one year. That’s backups for you.

I think it might be individually harder but I also know that the defensive responsibilities given to halves are based on their strengths, which are agility and decision making. So I suspect these are the ones who are hardest to replace without disrupting the defensive scheme.

Yes defending at centre is hard, especially when the half on your inside is a weak defender, but that isn’t the case on our left side. Tuilagi didn’t need to protect Brown’s outside shoulder

Well we were paying $3 long before Simonsson went off. And the fact is their last two tries were scored without Tuilagi at centre.
Do you think if we had another backup in place of Lumelume they would likely be as bad a player?

I think the bookies are underestimating us this season and I expect us to shorten considerably as the season goes on.

I guess we’ll never know if swapping Brown and Tuilagi would have stopped him from getting torched every set but I guess we’ll never know. It would have been worth trying because the status quo wasn’t working. They wouldn’t have been the first players to have swapped defensive positions on the field in a game.

BA's coaching masterclass was just a ploy to distract us from how shit the white jerseys are. Out alternate jersey should always be gold/yellow
Its garbage i am baffled by it because the club were petrified in 2022 to wear it on GF day despite wearing white against Penrith 3 weeks beforehand in the first semi final that season,

So what changed in 3 weeks from that game to GF day when we wore Gold/Yellow. If it was a clash issue why were we allowed to wear Yellow/Gold on GF day.

They were petrified of the thought of Gutho holding the trophy up and the image of him looking like a Bulldogs player.

Yet we stick with it. Our brand is Blue & Gold yet we have removed Gold/Yellow from our strips.

I barely see many White Parra Jerseys worn at home games. So its clearly a selling well.

I've said it before, if for some reason we have to have a third jersey other than our blue with yellow, and our yellow with blue - make it grey with blue and yellow.

I've got a grey eels cap from somewhere, and it looks ok, and would probably look better than white for other clothes and merchandise. White is just so f**king lame for us, on field or off.

Forwards mins played on Friday night v Panthers

A bit all over the shop due to the need to cover Simonsson and Tuilagi's injuries.

80mins Lane
80mins Cartwright
77mins Lussick
70mins Hopgood
57mins Campbell-Gillard
53mins Paulo
50mins Matterson
49mins Tuliagi
37mins Offa
3mins Hands... dumbest use of bench imo, when other forwards would predicatbly be gassed

Apparently the new leg lift rule also didn't get emailed to Klein.

I could only say that Hands didn't get a run due to us losing an interchange when Simonson got injured and Kelma needed a rest... (the simmonson replacement would have been a free one due to being put on report).

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut then he played 3 minutes so why couldn't he come on sooner?

I would say Dylan Brown is too important in his current position in the defensive line to consider replacing with a player who has no experience there. Teams build their defensive systems around the strengths of the players they have, and the footy smarts of their halves are taken into account. This means the three in position isn’t just somewhere you can stick a back rower and hope for the best. If Tuilagi (or Cartwright or Hands) had been defending there they would’ve been targeted with various combinations of half, back rower and fullback on their inside and outside shoulder.

Just accept that the coaching staff aren’t dumber than us deadshits, and they have considered the possibilities.

Because we knew we wouldn’t need it for an emergency later on.

Consider this:

It’s not the number of bench minutes that limits our ability to interchange players, it is the number of interchanges. There are plenty of minutes. Nobody plays too many of them over the 80 minutes. What causes fatigue is having to play too many minutes without a break. If they can sit down for 10 or 15 minutes they are pretty much good to go again.

What this means is that even with only one middle forward on the bench, whenever one needs a break we are better off replacing him with the existing bench middle who is superior to Brendan Hands even at full fitness. Which is what we did until right at the end when it was clear we were out of time for a comeback. Cleary waited even longer (78th minute) to give Laurie a run.
