Ivan said he cancelled a substitution, and the trainer was rushing to ensure the message of the cancellation went through in time. Hence the incorrect route.

Makes sense and the kicker had no distractions when taking his shot

I'm going to agree with the right edge concerns too.

BUT

I've analysed it every time it breaks down and have come to the conclusion that at least one of the four fails to "stay connected" and inevitably ends up past the ball.

Watching it unfold yesterday, and it pains me to say, our best player, and arguably the games best player, Nathan Cleary was the culprit far too many times.

The resultant problems from one player leaving the structure is so hard to overcome and the Titans made us pay plenty of times. Other teams don't score every time we make defensive errors, but gee, they can make some players look dumb.

Nathan is also the first to admit his shortcomings and said as much in a post match interview.

It will be fixed again, just like the last time it happened during a losing streak.
Yes Nathan has become a passenger in defence of late. He is the weakest link on that side. Hope he doesn't turn into a Jamie Soward level passenger.

He was diabolical in the 23 grand final, but that is overlooked because we all know what happened after that. He's becoming a player that needs to be on for the clutch moments but needs to be sidelined in defence. It's a bit of a worry.
He gets a pass for that because Haas crushed his leg very early on

Also that edge gets carved up by fast opposition because there is no speed and all of them are carrying injuries. Casey and Jenkins can cover missed tackles because they are young, uninjured and fairly quick.

You wouldn't say our defense was great, but the Tits can carve up anyone when they get position or space. They scored 4 tries vs the Dogs earlier in the year and that was without Campbell. Biggest issue was discipline, giving them a mountain of possession with errors and (some soft) penalties. Our defensive structure also went to shit when we went a man down, something that has been a problem at other points in the year (first Cows game comes to mind). Other than that, their points came from an extended period of pressure on our line and a pretty freaky intercept by JC.

Personally I feel like it was probably deliberate, who tf cares tho. Campbell had a chance to reset and kick, he f**ken missed. If he wants to blame the trainer it just means he’s easily rattled.

As far as the media beat up and any potential punishments, again who cares. I’m sure ivan or the players aren’t worried about it. I knew as soon as it happens there would be a big overreaction for a day or two.

Agree, massive over reaction. Fans and commentators have short memories. Kicker had the chance to reset. Ive seen our club cop similar or worse over the years. I do not believe Ivan would support anyone in our club doing this type of thing deliberately. How many times has he refused to comment on infringements against us? He / Panthers are not that type of club.

I agree with this. There have been a fair few instances this year when that edge was getting carved and Tago was taking the blame - but Nathan was the bigger culprit. We are so used to Nathan being 'the man' and probably one of the games most sound defensive halfbacks that fans reflexively blame the others around him.

Ohhhh people get REAL upset if you question Nathan's defence. He regressed every year since debuting.
I wouldn't say regressed but his coming out of the line is becoming far to regular. It's causing issues with the back rower inside him and your mate Tago outside him getting caught in bad situations.
