Rd1: Eels v Titans GAME DAY THREAD @ Comm Bank Stadium 13/3/22

Limped home for the win - lost all our attacking confidence once Russell had to leave the field, and the backline was reshuffled.

Some worrying signs in centre defence too, with easy overlaps created to either side in the middle 40mins. Hard to know where the cause of that lies - could be the edge forwards, or a lack of smarts in the bench rotation centre forwards?

Two points is better than none, but a lot of work to do to look like a true threat.

We've controlled the ball much better since Arthur came on. Possession finished at 56%

Arthur did nothing wrong. But what does he actually do? He looks a very boring half in the making. For him to be NRL level he would need an A+ kicking game, excellent execution and a cool head and be able to direct the team around and make good choices. He has zero spark about him so must be very good in those other areas to suceed

So Nuikore on the bench next week gives us the backline injury cover we need (Gutherson slots into the halves if injury occurs there). That is, if there is someone available to fill Russell's wing spot, which will likely be left vacant thanks to Mr Kneeslide.

Russel may be ok. At worse I would imagine a broken rib. Could be just bruising. Either way I doubt its a long term injury.

Laziou might be a smokie also if we are looking for future.

We took the Titans light. We also tried to play touch footy. I hate how we go into our shell thou and wheels fall off. We rarely attempt any sort of ball movement inside our own half.
Our defense was poor as far as intensity goes and effort. We also had quite a bit of luck go our way with our 2md try and a few penalties.

A win is a win.
A real wake up call this afternoon that no team will be easy to beat.
The positive is that we played rather poorly and still won. Love the way we toughed it out and ground the win.
I'm just looking for all the positives.
RCG was immense.

Sorry lads didn't realise there was a game page I posted this on the rumour page as well. How the f**k did Campbell get away with that sliding knees. Russel is in hospital cause of it and not a word said. I've heard murmurs that it could be a punctured lung. Both the browns have done similar things and have been suspended an absolutely shocking decision by the bunker.

Also, a couple of positives we played that shit and Titans still couldn't beat us shows how bad they are 😂 Can't stand those merkins palming our faces when were playing the ball, laying all over us and constantly offside that ref Aitken is a flog still don't understand how he is an NRL ref.

You got a Hugh Giddy Up to win that one. Every dubious decision went with Parra. Real ordinary display.
