I'm with pou....we've had f**k all luck so far this season

The footy gods must hate us
If you keep extending a fraud like Bea Arthur the footy gods have nothing to do with it. We’ve brought it all on ourselves.

Maybe the footy gods are pissed that we keep extending bushy, and are now punishing us for being so stupid....

Bench rotation:
20min Matterson for Greig
28min Makatoa for Paulo
30min Cartwright for Hopgood
53min Hopgood for Makatoa
54min Hands for Hodgson - should have been earlier
57min Paulo for Davey
65min Greig for Matterson - weird, but seems pre-planned
72min Davey for Moses (HIA) - forced, but should have been Hodgson, but BA let him play too many minutes to start with
73min Matterson for Greig - probably in recognition that without Moses we needed Matto out there and/or Greig was gassed?

Minutes played:
80 Lane
72 Moses (HIA)
65 Davey - too many for first NRL game in a while?
57 Hopgood
54 Hodgson - too many fullstop
52 Matterson (from bench) - not enough for someone who should be forward leader?
51 Paulo - not enough mins/form when he needs to step up in RCG's absence
50 Cartwright (from bench) - I prefer when Carty starts
28 Greig - not sure he had 15mins more in him at the end, strange usage
26 Hands (from bench) - not enough
25 Makatoa (from bench) - capable of some more mins imo

Thanks for this.

I don't normally bag BA bench rotations but watching it last night it felt he bottled it.

Paulo was off for too long.
Hodgson didn't get taken off early enough.
Matto should have stayed on the park for last 60 mins.

Lane looked gassed with 10 mins to go.

Ironically if you look back at the preliminary final last year. Lane going off for a HIA check with a poker eye probably helped us to get the GF. As Lane was massive in that last 10 mins and may not have had the energy if he played 80 that night instead of 65.

Luck shouldn’t have been a factor tonight. Just looking at the stats will tell you that it’s a game we should have won if we played our cards right.
That's probably true. I think it points to two possibilities: 1. Our coaching staff are not using our players to maximum effect; 2. We are lacking at least one x-factor player in attack.

I think we have an attacking X-factor player - it’s Dylan Brown. He was brilliant last night, when he was playing off the cuff. But most of that seemed to be deviating from the regular gameplan, and chasing points.

Give me CommBank anyday. I disslike Suncorp. Horrible view and hated the replay screen. Ive no desire to ever return.
That said the atmosphere was amazing and I loved The Caxton. Yummy pint of Great Northern. The burger was tops as well. The march down Caxton street is something to behold. Amazing. Son bought me The Magic Round Cap. Every club logo. Love it.
Our Eels. Well lets just say they spoiled the experience. Poorly played and poorly coached. I remain a fan of Holbrook.
We probably lost this game before the kick off. Hodgson should have been hooked after THAT pass. Surely BA is taking the pi** playing this bloke.
Ive never been much of a BA fan but Ive vowed to back off this year given last years GF achievement. Its getting tough to cop.
In the prediction thread I predicted a 9th finish. That appears optimistic. I also predicted Paulo having a disappointing season. Hes been poor.
No I havent been talking to Hineys little birds.
Loved The Cows defensive resolve. We need lots of that. We simply have no idea in defence. 4 off D coaches during BAs tenure yet nothing changes. Strange that!

Agree on Dylan. Actually what I see the difference in this season of late are the simple errors and discipline. Last night the penalties at crucial times killed us. Why they were not 6 agains I have no idea. Anyway a 40m leg up multiple times was so difficult. Field position and possession is what determines results.

I don’t know what Doorey did wrong, was at the game with 3 friends and one of them ask what’s happened to Doorey is he injured. Because he said he’s been impressive from what he’d saw. Isaid I have no idea he might of contracted Nathan Brown disease.
I would say he's not fit enough

Moses said his first kick will determine how he plays for the rest of the game. If he misses his first kick then get gutho to kick the next one

Once again we lose a game due to our inability to convert tries, that's 4 this year by my count

A million dollars my arse, he ain't worth that much

Concussion issues may be a under rated issue to consider.

How many has Mitch had in past 12-18 months.

At least 2 possibly 3. Not ideal

He copped one in 2021 also against Cronulla at Commbank from memory as well.

He plays on the edge and his D is a little grabby. He's only 22 (?) and a great hole runner. He'll have a great future with us once he sorts out his hit n stick and can play 80 if asked.
