JA did his job tonight had one bad kick but i couldnt fault him too much.

He made a early error but at least he looked threatening when running the ball doing it. Would rather that then just pass the ball robotic like he did at times last year.

In the first half he was very good. I thought his 2nd he was off. In NRL you can put in a bad kick but not often. Most of his 2nd half kicks where average. Especially the first 20. That's when we lost the game. He was far from terrible.

I just saw the presser, it was good to see him finally call out some of the BS from the pube collector but he's deluded if he think we played tough and aggressive. If he's proud of an effort like that it shows his low standards. It would be like bragging at banging a 3/10 to your mates.

Looked like he improved a bit on last year. Marking up on the same edge as wighton and young is a tough test and he did pretty well defensively. Still made a poor kick and at least one poor pass but hopefully keeps improving with experience.
Good news for us is we have a few other young halves coming through now so we should have better depth in the future if Moses or brown go down.

No one has the ball either when a player gets in front of the kicker to stop them getting to the ball. Why is it a penalty though when this happens if no one has the ball?

There isn't any such rule. The only rule is you can't obstruct a defender. The rest is just interpretation of an obstruction.

The issue is what Jake did often isn't called a penalty. But how often does the person try and jump over the position Jake was in? Rarely. They also just go around. I'm surprised more people don't do what Wighton did.
