True. But they'll tear us apart on our right edge.
I’m actually prepared to spend the loss to put the Waqa decision to bed.
If he can somehow fix his defence to adequately contain Souffs, then he can do it against almost anyone.
If he can’t, I’d cut the losses and try to move him on

I wouldn’t mind Waqa playing for the other side either. Can you do that?
These days, probably. It's just looking at their stats Blake was a better defender at the Panthers. Not by a huge amount but went from low 80% tackle efficiency to 77% in his first two years with us and currently 69% this year. Opacic was I think low 70% his first two years with the Broncos but last three years with us and Cowboys he's mid 80%.

Waqa Blake only copped fines? The judiciary f**king hate us. We are trying to stamp head highs out of the game and they go f**king soft on the merkin.

He can't. He's a lame duck. If he figures in our team selection (17) this week then I'm going to visit a popular coaching thread in this side of the forum.

His stats aren't all that worse than Sivo's. Fantasy points are very close. He's even got twice as many try assists as Dylan Brown.

Sivo been good this season. I haven't seen him bomb to many tries. I have seen him score many that most wouldn't of.
Fergos runs aren't that strong in comparison. I can think of one try he has scored this season that was class but a lot more that he blew.
His foot work is gone. He is unable to create space and also doesn't accelerate like he used to. Just an average battering ram who is good for a few brain explosions and a few poor reads in defense.
I'm sure he is capable of the odd highlight moment. But I sure hope he is signed for next season.

I thought we got in position to score multiple times yesterday but went for the miracle play when it wasn't needed. Whilst manly had a player off Cartwright and Arthur kicked on early tackles that led to nothing, whilst Moses and Gutho went for miracle passes.

The one time we went through the hands we scored. That's how we win games, engage defenders and get our outside players 1v1 against their opposition. We don't need the Sam Walker 30m cut-out, we need the Eels vs storm ruck play.

I do not like it one bit when we have Reed firing the long ball to our first receiver who is standing nearly half the field away. The way to create space on the outside is to keep the "A" and "B" defenders engaged around the ruck. Continually having those long passes from dummy half allows those inside defenders to turn their bodies and help their outside defenders. Plays like that are good once in a while where you've tired out the middle defenders and catch them out being lazy but when they're set it just doesn't work.

And the thing is we can play like this. We're blessed to have 2 elite level ball-players as middle forwards. We also have 2 very quick halves who can catch out lazy ruck defenders. We need to play tighter to the ruck in these games, not wider.

I feel like we lost our offloads and play to safe. We aren't spreadimg the ball inside our own half either.
But last year we did the same then opened our attack up in the finals. Maybe not wanting to show all our cards. Issue was our defense was garbage come finals.

Before Gutho got tackled he was begging Sivo to go with him, would have put him on a long run downfield on that left side

Sivo appeared gassed, or was it just no game awareness until way too late
Sivo is always gassed. He was in the clear twice and propped both times. Not fit to tie Semis bootlaces.

He's smashed over for a few tries this year and I don't recall him bombing too many. And he's not getting the same opportunities Sivo is. His tackle stats are far better than Sivo. And as I said, the fantasy points are near identical.

Blake and Jarthur are going to get handed their arses if they defend on the right again, Matto cant do it all on his own. Jarthur is OK for a 7 but he is no Dylbags in defense.

We simply must have Niokore defend on the right with Matto and Jarthur.

Admittedly it was his first game back and he may have been a bit rusty but what we saw last night reminded us just how bad a defender Blake is and how well we did with Niokore at right centre

I think it's obvious to everyone T. Hopefully Coach agrees.

Waqa played against the Warriors last week. But, you're forgiven for not noticing him in defence......or attack. He had the #4 on his back.

Opacic is the unsung member of our team, thus far. Plays consistently well....next best buy behind Papa. Speaking of Papa, the other teams have now worked him out.............over to you Barthur.
Papa is also playing time in the middle when bwyce comes on. He's better staying on the edge. Maybe shift to right edge, bwyce left edge as don't want bwyce on the right in defence and matto to the middle at lock
