See, this is what I don't get. Why replace Waqa with someone ( e.g: Oldfield) who ""surely can't be worse than Waqa", when we already have someone (Marata) who has been fantastic in the position? Sure, Marata would be great as part of a bench forward rotation - but we don't need him there as much as we need him at centre. For me, it's a no-brainer.

Not like i didn't say put Marata back there.
Need to look at all viable options. Just like most doubted Opacic, he's been a revelation. Oldfield could be the same.
If we can find someone for that centre spot still believe with a 17 man game, Marata is better served coming off the bench or starting in the forwards. Laterally is where I think he will be found out playing in the centres. I'm a huge fan of Marata and wouldn't be fussed if he was selected at centre. However are we robbing Peter to pay Paul?

Blaming Jake Arthur is easy , but remember he is the third choice 6, Will Smith would have played there if not for a broken thumb. Stronger defender and obviously more experienced, but you have to play with the cards dealt.

I know he isn't super quick. But when he does get into space why can't he just run until he's tackled. I hate how he slows down for the cover defence.

It shits me that Blake is on the nose compared to Nuikore. But understandable.

Blake should be 10 times the player but is too inconsistent. I thought he might have improved after he got rid of the afro, but he is still a dumb merkin.

We need some strike in the centres. Opa and Nuikore are our best options but they are both boring safe merkins.

Who signed Fergo on 500k? Terrible signing. We had one great year out of him when he was worth that. Then got lumped with 2 rubbish years that a 200k winger would give you. It is about management.
We also took on Blake for 4.5yrs. Alarm bells when another club doesn't want you.
RCG has been great but what was that 5 yrs? You watch how poor he will be in his last 2 seasons or atleast final one. And will be costing 750k.

There are 3 men who current clubs wanted gone. We have been burned by two and I will almost guarantee RCG contract will be a nightmare towards the end.

Our team has improved massively with those signings. One loss and the sky falls in ffs

I thought young Jake did well, but he is understandably not ready for regular First Grade just yet.

Games like the match against Manly illustrate just how under-rated Dylan Brown is as a defender.

We dominated the first half but Manly were playing their grand final and we weren't prepared to win it over 80 minutes. Manly scored a couple of arsey tries and then we decided we need to score on every set.

We're a grinding team and that's how we need to play, no matter the scoreboard.

In both games, JA’s defensive stats have read better than waqa’s. In the previous games with Marata at centre, his stats too, have looked better.
Based on averages waqa’s the worst player defensively in the Comp. Yet somehow is still in the team.

Blake's defensive responses are entirely situational. His effective tackle rate at Penrith was in the mid-80s, defending outside Maloney ffs. Jake Arthur's is defending far too close to Matterson. He's leaving too much space outside him. Wait until Drown gets back and you'll see the difference.

Watching the replay. There's minimal trust in Jrthurs D and when he was the prominent defender his strength was weak and easilly overpowered. Needs lots more time in the 2s. Based on yesterday he probably shouldn't play next game. Id say Matto to 6 but we will be short RCG so probably not. None of this excuses Waqa however.

Fergo is finished up. Sivo has nothing except a barge over try and is very lazy. Blake is just hopeless at centre.

Bring in pensini at centre, dunster and Blake to the wings. They can't do any worse, and will also provide much much much needed speed

I defended Blake last year. But after yesterday you can’t defend that. His hopeless reads were compounded by him trying to hard. I think he missed 3 or 4 in the same play.

He hadn’t been exposed like he had been here at parra. He’s a fraud and hopefully not in grade when brown is back.
