I don’t know what’s worse, when they give up or piss their pants. f**k me this was tragic to watch. So f**king disgusting.
It's that we dropped a level when they had a player binned and they went up a level. They should've also had Dylan defend 2 in instead of 3 especially when we were making Connor treacy look like Wally Lewis...he wouldve been a bloody good pick up...but no we go and sign battlers
This typifies the weak soft underbelly of the club and massive change in mindset required. When a team goes down a player we need to go for the jugular.
It seemed like we started panicking and went away what was working in attack.
I will also say in the last Moses literally lobbed the ball up for Treacy to catch. Send it up. Make it rain. Make it a contest...season is officially on life support and may be deemed game over 2024 after Saturdays game against the Roosters..

When you enter the season with only 6 backline players in a light top 27, then stands to reason injuries in that area will stuff you. Couple that with the fact that no move was made to understand that speed was a growing factor. The bone headedness to not make any serious moves in season just confirms how out of touch the R&R team was.

To illustrate the point, even TCT pointed out before the season that the roster was unbalanced and short, and most would suggest they are just cheerleaders.Terrible and basically inept . Asi is a reserve 6 at best, how many times did they score down that edge. How short would the team have been if Talagi hadnt matured so quickly.

Harper seemed to be signed with one foot on the plane to SuperLeague, how depressing.
Am I reading this correctly that you’re saying TCT are “just cheerleaders” 😳

Does Blaize stay on the wing moving forward or play centre.

I was surprised how he handled the position considering I don't think he has played there.

We can't keep switching him around.

He has played 8 FG games in 5 different positions.

We can't keep moving him around there needs to be a plan.

Let him settle in 1 position the season is cooked.

During the pre-season, Sixties interviewed Mark O'Neill and appeared star struck and asked no tough questions. He was as flaccid as our defence. TCT are nice fellas but are way too diplomatic and lack the balls to point the finger at the usual suspects. They rarely gave it to BA and almost had a cry when he was sacked.

Mark O'Neill needs to be thrown out on his ear. Let's see how they react if that (hopefully) occurs.

Have you never seen our squad selections?

You must be a utility ffs! Next week he can go play hooker!

Anyway he and Lomax are going to be fighting it out for a wing and centre spot and Sivo Simmonson will be fighting for the vacant wing spot next year if we keep simmonson.

Blaize/Lomax
Lomax/Blaize
Penisini
Sivo/Simmonson

Will be the backline next year.

Just back from the game and haven't yet read the thread. Some thoughts:

* We had the momentum and the game in our grasp, scoring first in the second half and then a Bulldogs player binned, but we didn't take advantage
* I had that sinking feeling when Lane dropped the ball in the hit-up immediately after the sin bin...
* As a team it looked like we clocked off and tried to defend the lead (subbing in Lussick), and that didn't work well for us
* Crichton made Asi his bitch all night long (also see below)
* Credit to the Bulldogs who trusted themselves despite a sin bin and two major/medicart injuries during the course of the match
* So the mentally weak Parra has returned, and that should put paid to any belief we'd scrape into the top 8 this season.

On the backline selections:
* It's not Asi's fault he was picked at centre to mark up on Crichton
* If Penisini is meant to be such a good prospect, I would have shifted sides so he could try defending Crichton
* I don't buy into centres being specialists on only one side or the other - back in the day backline movements swapped side to side
* I know he's rep level and our guys aren't, but didn't Crichton swap sides earlier in the season?
* It will be interesting to see where Lomax slots into this squad next season
* Blaize is a winger only at this stage at NRL level (and can maybe learn to be something else), but if Sivo is fit and available I still don't think Blaize is a first choice selection

That’s where the TCT lost me. No respect for them.

Wish I never went. Really a game we should have won. Which makes it worse.

Cartwright in a pearler needs to go to specsavers moment
Funny thing was at the ground sitting on that side, after Carty's pass went over the sideline it seemed like both Carty and Moses gave Blaize the look as if it was his fault for not having accelerated.

Possibly a set move and Talagi was a second behind the timing?

Carty did some really good things in attack today as the game went on.
