why would I do that ?

you didn't respond to this bit cherry picker
Yes but you are the one wanting to compare a loss to a top 4 rival with half your spine and backline missing than our flogging to a team had won 8 games in about 2 and half years. Hardly apples vs apples. We have got flogged regularly every season under Bea. Even the seasons we have done well.

I get that, but you still didn't respond.

All teams lose in all sports, it happens

The games moved on from the big power forwards to he fast hard working mobile ones I feel.
Why I questioned long term deals to both our big middles
I think you need both tbh.

Anyway, a lot of the conversation after the loss has been about our poor game plan but I don’t think our game plan is the main problem.

Losses like Monday’s invariably happen because of lack of effort, particularly defence.

The Dogs played their best game all year but we made them look a whole lot better than they were because we took soft options.

The criticism of BA for giving the players time off was interesting. He’s heard previous criticism about flogging them too hard and seems to want us fresh at the end of the year.

Sadly, though the players probably confirmed his original thinking by not being on the job after a break. He’ll think twice about doing that again.

There’s 100% still room for the Juniors of the game. The problem isn’t having big power forwards. The problem is having your game plan revolve around using those big power forwards but then on game day we decide we’ll try and go around the outside instead

We did have a 15 day turnaround.

That's a big break in the scheme of things. Especially playing on a Monday after a bye.

Even if he gave them 5 days off they still had 8-9 days to prepare for dogs match.

I think it was a too long turnaround I hear some retired players say they preferred a 5 day turnaround.

Example a Sunday-Friday turnaround is better then a 9-10 day turnaround because there was less training on a 5 day break compared to a 9-10 day break. And they generally felt ready to go again 5 days later just itching to get back out there.

Good thing they got that break then, cause they don’t f**ken deserve another day off. Way it’s going they only have to wait until 2nd September for holidays anyways

Yep. I doubt BA would have told them to do that. They were just being lazy merkins and took the opposition far too lightly.

Well that’s great to know, that’s the main thing. As long as the leagues club is doing well who really cares about the team. That’s not what we are all invested in!!

Go the leagues club!!
The point is that the stakeholders who care most about footy results are generally the ones in f**k all position to have any effect on them. If we want to get results like the rich clubs we need to spend as much as they do. That includes things like being able to provide cushy jobs for family members of players.
