Souths, the team that has this season conceded 50 to both Penrith (who did us by 1) and Melbourne (who we beat), is “on another level” than us? I actually think we showed tonight that we’re well and truly the best of the rest after Penrith and Melbourne.
I agree, but we still won't beat Souths. They've put 38 or more on us 4 of the last 6 times we've played them.

So just including the merkins who played tonight (excluding Cleary's 10 games) they had 15 games to our 11, which was 36% more Origin experience. And yet they only scored 8% more points than us. You need more facts and less shit emotions. Go and see a doctor ffs.
11 to 15 lol, absolutely massive. It's hilarious the lengths of dribble you post after a loss.

And Gapewell has played 5 for the bog average QLD side, he wouldn't make NSW's 3rd pack let alone as a centre.

Or maybe we've had a better draw to this stage of the season?
Well we've played the other seven top eight sides once, while they have played all except St George, but have played Manly and Cronulla twice. Assuming the top eight doesn't change (it might only be the top eight because all these sides have only had to play us once) then Penrith have had a better draw, but not by much.

If you don't like facts feel free to keep throwing your shit opinion out there. But don't pretend you're interested in backing it with facts.

He's made it ahead of our top 17 specialist centre Tomislav Opåčïĉ.

It's 4 games, and 11-15 is surely not a big enough sample size???? What am i saying it suits your argument so of course it is.

You keep talking down the team but keep talking up the coaching staff which is hilarious.

I'm asking how you can pin the blame on one while ignoring the other. We have a good team and a good coach, but there are a couple of great teams in this competition, and one of them is also coached by a great coach. I don't think Cleary's any better than Arthur's. When he's had a gun side he has looked good and when he has had an average side he's looked average. Just like Brad Arthur's.

Cleary has made two GF's, first was with a Warriors side he built himself and Penrith which is a young side he has moulded into a very good maybe great one. While under our coach we have won 1 finals game against the Bronco's who have barely won a game since.

Comparing their achievements are laughable, we have never looked a threat against the top sides when it has mattered most. The only time we have really played well in a big game was in 2017 against the Storm when we played out of our skins and gave them a massive fright. Other than that we have been pretty poor or inept when it's mattered.

Do we have the best squad???? No but we have a damn good one that can and should be challenging the top sides. Penrith were pretty poor tonight without their main man and we still couldn't put them away. But we did chase the collision at least which is the main thing.

Winning finals matches takes luck, no different from winning any other game. Cleary's win rate is less than Arthur's and head-to-head Arthur's has the advantage. Agreed 13 games is a small sample, but so is the six finals matches of Arthur's career. Statistically all that matters is the biggest sample, meaning career win rate, and Cleary and Arthur's are winning at roughly the same rate. If winning premierships is the inevitable mark of a good coach then Cleary has won nothing. Meanwhile Hagan, Stuart, Maguire and Green are supposedly all better coaches.

Firstly condolences to the Opacic family.

It wasn't a pretty game, Very good defensive effort from both sides, each absorbed a lot of pressure.

What is going on with the refereeing? I know I am looking through blue & gold glasses, but why it is every week the ref calls our defenders to get off the tackled player much quicker than the opposition? Penrith seemed to be given a lot more time to keep hands on the ball, or hold up and keep wrestling with our players. Very noticeable on 6 again calls too. Penrith got a lot of calls their way late in the set, but could do no wrong against us.

Unfortunately a couple of Gutho's errors cost us big time. The intercept pass and the forward pass. Not happy Moses couldn't ice that last kick - you would put money on a good goal kicker getting that one.

Like most here I am unhappy with our attacking plays. Too often when in good position we are not set to attack. It is just bash and barge and wait till the last to kick. Moses needs to run more and look to put players into gaps. I hate when he just runs across field and passes back inside. We had enough chances in the first half to get another try or two.

Very poor second half for us in terms of field position. Didn't we only have 2 tackles inside their 20???

And you are doing the opposite....which is equally hilarious, and predictable. The Panthers haven't lost at home for 2 years, they have the best defence in the comp and we lost to them by a point. Sure, we could have been better in a number of aspects (a couple of key errors in particular), but there's no reason we can't beat these guys in final if a few things go our way.

BA is an excellent man manager, talent recruiter and front man, if there are issues it’s retaining the same attack coach for 8 years, with the same approach on sweeps and block plays. Understand the attack coach is a really good person, but the team needs more than someone who runs messages out , they need a strategist and someone to mould new plays at training.

it was mentioned previously, but a Brian Smith clone would be more than useful.

You keep banging on about assistant coaches, have you ever thought BA is happy with the ones he has? They would only be helping BA carry out his game plans.

We were up against Souths with Takairangi and Dunster in the backline ffs. The week before we had f**ken Andrew Davey defending at left half and Niukore at centre for 70 minutes. If we played a top side with similar nuffies defending in key positions we probably would've won. It comes down to luck on the day.

And who did south’s have? Jackson paulo and that other Nuffie that’s now at the dogs. Plus some other no name.

They were there to be beaten, without their best player and leader. Add in 5 players backing up from origin and they also had an off night with their hands. We won't get a better chance to beat them but it was the same old same old in attack and when it really mattered we wilted.

What's really hilarious is how Steve Murphy still has a job after being shown time and time again he is not good enough.

But we front loaded our effort area's and chased the collision so thats all that really matters.
