And I’m not sure if this is a good thing but Offa is now our best middle forward, actually scratch that he’s been our best forward this year. Has he improved that much or the others just gone backwards at a rate of knots??

It’s obvious that the foward pack have had the collision chased out of them the last 5 or so years. I think a new coach and voice could do a lot.

@Poupou Escobar you where right. He is suited to the modern game.

The main support players for forwards should be the fullback and hooker who are floating. I think Gutho days at fullback are numbered for this reason. Remember B.Hodgson and how good he was at it.
As far as Guthersons break I reckon it has to be the halves ( If they didn't pass the ball ) or your centres/Wingers. Ours are just to slow. None of them are going to make up ground with a 10mtrs start.
Luke Burt was small and average but his support play was first class cause of his speed. Fast sides make a break and it's goodnight. We have built such a slow squad it's embarrassing.
Speed kills
I'd take Burt over some of these pretenders.

The biggest problem with our attack and you see it at the game is.

We have no players in motion off the ball they all stand still.

So when we offload the ball there is no momentum in the play as everyone is flat footed.

Same when we spread the ball no one is moving with any forward motion or momentum to capitalize on a backline play.

We lack speed on the edges and our support play is abysmal.

Gutho makes a break last night at 16-10 wtf was his support he had to throw a harbour bridge pass 25m to the winger which got intercepted.

Gutho should have taken the tackle but at the same time wtf was Dylan Brown or someone else pushing up in support.

Sean Russell was nowhere to be seen i think Gutho tried to pass it to Tago.

If we score there to get it back to 16-all with the momentum its a different game.

We don't threaten the middle third of the field either. No attack out of dummy half, no back or full back challenging marker defense and lines being run by back rowers. It just means opposition defenses just slide cause their not being commited and our attack runs out of room.

100% do our coaches sit and review the game or what?!!

I have been saying his for ages we have the most offloads but no one is backing up to take the pass..

We also have the slowest fullback in the competition so when we go out the back the defense just slides and makes the tackle...

Imagine a hard running backrower surprising our oppositions defense with an outside in line while they are all sliding to sideline. Heaven.

Guymer is the only real positive i can take out of the game, Tago a bloke who was playing RM at the start of the season looked almost our best back. Let that sink in, and if we lose Talagi the club just needs to be blown up seriously he's just too good to lose. I'd give him the fullback gig now and if Guth doesn't like it he can get f**ked as far as i'm concerned. The thing that stinks out like Dog balls is this team needs some proper coaching something that hasn't happened since Daniel Anderson got the arse.
Talk on SEN radio yesterday is Saints are close to nabbing him.

Joffa is on track to win 3 wooden spoons at 3 different clubs in 5 years.

Surely that has to be a record.

I have to agree with on Offa. I think he's improved a lot this year and lately he's the only forward that goes up the guts, making good yards and doesnt try and be a ball player all the time.

I reckon if he was going he’d be gone by now,
Maybe Blaize's agent just wants to use us to pump up the contract price the Dragons are offering - but has to hold off until we have a new coach in place to agree through the R&R committee on what we're willing to offer/pay?

I think Mark O'Neill's ratchet clauses - where certain player payments increase to maintain a percentage of our overall cap - are going to come back to haunt us. It's just bad business for a club, and limits our future cap flexibility

I reckon if he was going he’d be gone by now, but how can you call yourself a development club when you can’t even keep your best talent. Amazing how all the Rhino juniors were well under lock and key before anyone come calling.

Agree. I don't see us losing Talagi,Guymer,Tavaiti, Brazel. I was told 2.5yrs ago we don't have anything good coming into grade untill 2025/2025.
I feel like the clubs gone we will sign our current bunch till 2025/2026 based on these kids emerging. I don't think we expected them to lose form so early and have to promote these kids at 19. I'd say the original plan was for them to debut in 2025 slowly and be more regulars in 2026. And by 2027 they'd be semi.established.
