Rd19: Parra v Broncos GAME DAY THREAD @ Commbank 21/7/22

I almost guarantee that we would look better with Rein starting the first 20 of each match. He’s better defensively and can work himself into a standstill knowing it’s likely that it’s all he needs go get through. With the ball, it’s no secret we don’t play expansive early on. The difference in service would be negligible. It will freshen Mahoney and we will see a return of quick darts and better defence.

I hope someone who has the ability to make this change sees what I see. And quick smart before it’s too late.
Agree... but unfortunately I suspect one Jake Arthur is higher in the dummy half pecking order than Rein, and would probably get that gig even if someone in the club noticed and wanted to change the set/predictable structures.

When were they ever good defenders? Nothing has changed. It’s just that tonight we witnessed the nightmare scenario of twenty minutes with almost zero possession. If it happens again we will surely concede plenty of points
We've had the third best defensive record in the comp the previous two seasons.

Before this round we had the 11th best defensive record.

Something has changed.

They were making ground and scoring tries tonight when it was an equal amount of possession too.

I reckon there is a split in the camp. These merkins aren't on the same page. I heard rumours of it at the start of the season and these performances are strengthening my view.
Can you say who might be in the thick of it? It strikes me that there are some pretty big personalities within the team, and I can see how they mightn’t all sit well together.

Well no, RCG and Matto should be two of the best middle defenders in the comp. Yeah Paulo isnt mr mobile and Reed seems to have turned into a bit of s speed hump. Maka is a plodder in attack but can hold his own for his minimal minutes in defense.

I think our problem is we have lost our enforcer and line speed ... Nrown ... and its not just bad team selecrion, Nrown did go off the boil.
Well really your line is only as fast as the slowest middle defender. Look at the Haas try early on. Nobody was in a hurry to get their body in front. They were too busy trying to take a breather for the next tackle.

Well what a disappointing performance! Everything to play for, but lack of effort and energy!!

Had hopes we could come home strong this season and be half a chance, but can’t see that happening at this stage. Efforts like this could potentially see us struggle in most games for the rest of the year!
We're done like a dinner, mate. It's been that way since we lost to the Tigers.

I made enough to cover what I lost in our last few wins. Basically I’m up about $250 this year. Not a great deal in the grand scheme of things. Unless Parra win the comp I’ll make some decent money this year. If they win the comp I’ll be down a couple of grand I reckon. Money well spent.
I think your wallets safe, you won't need that second job washing dishes. Maybe you can give Bea Arthur a reference because thats all he seems capable of doing.

Very disappointed with how we played. Unlike other games, we were destroyed through the middle, our supposed strength. Our forwards were outplayed and the bounce of the ball went their way.

Most disappointing of all was the knock on off the kick off in the second half. Amateur hour!

I'd hazard a guess that Gutherson would be involved - he hasn't seemed too focussed this season.

Yep, it's the only way these frauds may learn. A hurt to the bottom line, enough is enough. My out of state membership only costs about 100 bucks but f**k off they will not be getting another red cent from me while that bald thief is still at the club.
Does that mean you'll start paying back the 1460 Krakens you owe me?

Queen Gutho and Slalom Moses don't get on with Mahoney it's as plain as the nose on your face. Mahoney must of got sick of being pushed out of the way by Hogthurson and was happy to leave.

Both edges leak like a sieve this year.

I reckon Coach knew that was our weakness in February, when he publically spoke about maybe using Dylan in the centres before the first trial... then all the backline injuries kept coming.
