I actually do think there’s something to this. Coming out of the blocks as a polished team hasn’t done us any favours in the last few years. It’s disappointing that they haven’t been able to put on a clinical performance in a premiership game yet this season, but our 2 or 3 or 4 win starts to the season in the last few years hasn’t meant shit when it comes time to win finals games. Maybe we’re pacing ourselves.
Wins at the start of the year help with getting a top 4 finish.

Interestingly my son’s junior side has had a few issues over the last couple of years (long story), but we have a few players …...they got a new coach 3 years ago (Covid has been an issue)….he told me he picks his side purely on defence/effort …..the boys have gone from struggling in B’s to now being competitive in A’s….
You can tell right throughout the code that nobody coaches attack anymore. I mean that has to stink for the kids at training.

Who's suggesting otherwise? Sharks effort was through the roof and ours was ordinary. We completed well and they didn't. In the end we lost by two points away. It was an exciting game. Why should we be entitled to win all of them?

The fans want a good team that wins a lot. On paper the Eels club should be strong like the Panthers. We have a better stadium and fans than them. But we cant attract anything but dead shit coaches and players. Apart from Moses I wouldn't piss on any of these players/coaches if they were on fire.

If he wanted him to play why not use him? If Cartwright was good to go why was he sacked an hour before kickoff? Your conspiracy theory doesn't have legs.
Lol. The coach narrows the team down to 19, then to 18, then to 17. To say Cartwright's non-inclusion in the final 17 as a sacking shows a lack of understanding of how team finalisation works - the jersey numbers are just an initial Tuesday brain fart, as a clearer picture develops through the week.

As to why coach didn't use son this week... you said yourself it was backline cover for injury - and there were no injuries. When Niukore returns, there hopefully won't be a need for Coach Arthur to carry on with the Arthur/Cartwright selection/bench shenanigans - and we can return to normal four forward bench play and rotations.

Gee the Presser was disheartening.
Need to play more direct. More bash and barge I suppose.
No talk of our pre season Mantra being defend and attack better in the 20. Even looks like weve given up on our Identity. It all sounds so 2014, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21.
